Dover does not sell pit passes.... the only way you can get to the infield is with a garage pass.
And.... I've been trying to get garage passes for quite a few years now for any race. If I knew.... I'd let you know. You just have to know the right people.
I've been to Dover.... it's a great track to watch races at, but unfortunately you can't get near the garage. I haven't been to a Truck race yet though.
I agree, Dover is hard to get pit passes. Each year that I went to Richmond, I could get them no problem. But Dover seems impossible. It's a nice track to see a race though. I was there last June.
So Stephen.... how do you get garage passes at Richmond? I'm talking the real garage passes, where you can walk right into the garage, not outside the fence.
I got very very lucky basically. Back in like 2001 Metlife (which is where my mom works) decided to sponsor Randy MacDonalds truck with Jimmy Hensley driving. My mom just happened to mention to someone in the marketing dept there that we were going to Richmond. Next thing I know we have garage passes. We got access to Cup, Busch, Trucks and IROC garage. I even went to the little church service in the infield and Tim Fedewa handed me the collection plate.
Ever since then, all we do is give Randy a call and he hooks us up. In turn, we cook lunch for his team, lol. But Dover was the only track he hasn't been able to get us in.
And the reason I mentioned Richmond was easy, is because during Cup qualifying the past few years, it seems there are more fans on pit road than in the stands. Last time it was so packed people were running out to drivers cars lined up on pit row trying to get autographs. So there has to be some way to get them at Richmond, other than knowing someone.
Well someday, if someone could ever hook me up with garage passes to some track on the east coast, I'd be forever grateful. :) This has been my quest for a number of years. My wife keeps asking me.... doesnt anyone in the league have any connections? lol

Yeah sadly his team is fading away slowly. Randys dad, Doc, has cancer and I get the feeling that if anything were to happen, the team would close up. It's too bad because they are great people and Metlife hasn't sponsored them since 2001, but they still spoil us. If I can ever hook you up, I'll let you know! It's something every Nascar fan should get to experience. I'm going to Watkins Glen in August and from what I hear, you can just stroll around the garage area for the Grand Am cars. Not quite Cup, but still pretty cool considering some Cup guys drive in that series.
My lucky day, Might be getting a pitt pass . A friend from work gets pitt passes every year . Only for the truck race .He said he would call his cousin to see what she could do. WOW!!!
