LROC Feedback

OK, the new series is currently being developed. I have one league lined up to compete against, but we may get a couple more in as well.

Each league will have 6 drivers that will represent them.

We will be using Cup, Busch and Truck series races. Nathan Helton came up with a schedule of 9 races with those series. I suggested adding another series to the schedule for a total of 12 races.

I suggested Indycar while Matt suggested Forumula one. Either one is fine with me.

Question is..... how should we score each of these series?? Should we use a flat scoring system for all series or should we use something different for each one.

I really don't know much on how F1 is scored, but looking into it, it looks just like the top 8 finishing drivers receive points.

One suggestion is to use the same scoring system for all series to avoid confusion.

We only use the top 12 drivers in the standings from each series, so we could use a 5 point system no matter where the driver finishes.

highest finishing driver: 60 points.....  next highest 55..... and so on.  5 points for leading a lap and 5 points for leading the most laps. Looking at results from F1 races, it doesn't show drivers leading laps, so I guess we wouldn't give points there.

Whenever IROC returns we could still use their scoring system as well for those races or just use the same one across the board.

i think we should use the same scoring with all 4 series, i would rather use the indy car series. scoring the top 12 drivers with 5 points per place sounds good and giving laps led bonus in the series that do that also sounds good ,and most lap led bonus also good. LETS RUN THIS BY THE COUNCIL! I WOULD RATHER USE INDY! i know SPEEDY IS GOING TO BE HAPPY! he wants so bad to run some kind of iroc series! Are the nascar events going to be divided up in different kinds of tracks?

I'd rather start with INDY myself since I'm a little bit more familiar with them. I don't know much about F1, but I'm willing to learn. Maybe we should poll the drivers that have been selected for LROC this season to see what they'd rather run.... INDY or F1 in addition to the 9 other races, 3 each of Busch, Cup and Truck.

By the way... in case anyone forgot, those drivers that were selected last season were:
Troy Wiggins, Mark Mason, Daniel Schmittou, Bob Douce, Jordan Hunt and myself.

Troy, yes there are different types of tracks selected. In the other LROC thread, I posted the 9 races that Nathan Helton came up with. I think he did a good job picking different types of races and tracks.

ok, well instead of debating between F1 and INDY, might as well have a little of both. Nathan emailed me a revised schedule with both series on it:

1) 03/16 Atlanta American Commercial Lines 200  (Trucks)
2) 04/28
Talladega Aaron's 312  (Busch)
3) 05/27
Indianapolis 500 (Indy Car)
4) 06/08
Texas Sam's Town 400 (Trucks)
5) 06/17
Indianapolis (Formula 1)
6) 06/24 Sears Point
Toyota / Save Mart 350 (Cup)
7) 07/27 IRP Power Stroke Diesel 200 Presented by Ford and International  (Trucks)

8) 08/05 Pocono
Pennsylvania 500 (Cup)
9) 08/11 Watkins Glen Zippo 200 (Busch)

10) 08/26 Infineon Raceway (Indy Car)
11) 09/30 Fuji Speedway (Formula 1)
12) 10/07 Talladega UAW-Ford 500 (Cup)

So we have 4 Cup races, 2 Busch, 2 Truck, 2 F1, 2 Indy.    Sounds good to me.

Next thing is to get the scoring system down.
