Looks like Ricky Craven might not be out of a job for long, this is the report:
the Boston Herald is reporting.....Ricky Craven will replace the embattled Robby Gordon behind the wheel of the #31 Richard Childress Racing machine at Dover (Del.) this Sunday, Bostonherald.com has learned. Gordon’s contract was to expire at the end of the season and RCR is not seeking to re-sign him. Craven, of Newburgh, Maine, could not be reached for comment. Childress is expected to fire Gordon later this week after a poor showing at NHIS. Craven is without a ride after being replaced earlier this month by Bobby Hamilton Jr. He was asked to race the No. 32 Tide car at NHIS for the Sylvania 300, in which he finished 17th.(Boston Herald)(9-20-2004)
Looks like Gordon was in a bad mood on sunday as he was battling against Greg Biffle. Looks like there was more to that. Well, I'll make the driver switch as soon as its confirmed but be aware of this if you're planning on picking Robby Gordon this week.
How come Nascar didn't park Robby after he held a press conference on his radio that he was going to wreck Bifle? Not only did he spin out Greg but took out two chase contenders as well. Nascar isn't sending a strong enough message about drivers losing their cool on the track.
I was ready for Tony to get into Robbie's face after the race or tounge lashing but surprising kept his cool. Now if Tony spun out two cup chasers he would of been pounded in the media for being out of control again. Still don't like this chase for the cup.
Well a number of people are asking why Gordon wasn't parked. They really should crack down more on that kind of behavior especially now with the chase going on.
Oh, and RCR denied that Gordon was being replaced, looks like he is still in this weekend at least. They will probably wait until the end of the season to can him. He'll probably be exclusively in the Busch Series next year.
they cant punish a driver until he actually spins him.....just saying 'im gonna get him' is just that........talk.......tempers flare in the car all day, so Nascar doesnt know who will calm down and who wont......
But the chase does suck.....Mayfield and Newman dont belong in the top ten and now the 42, 9, or 88 cant make it up to sixth or seventh etc.
Nascar isnt dead by any means, but with Brian France at the helm, they definately have a bad FLU!!!
