DEI CALLS A MEETING AND SAYS WALLACE AND WALTRIP YOU ARE HERE TO PUSH AND THE 8 IS HERE TO LEAD. THEY ACTUALLY TOLD DRIVERS NOT TO TRY AND WIN. THEN WITH ABOUT 10 LAPS TO GO YOU SEE JRS CREW CHIEF GO OVER TO THOSE 2 PITS AND THREATEN THEM????
I ALSO HEARD WHEN WALTRIP GOT INTO JR A LITTLE BIT, NASCAR WENT OVER AND TOLD WALTRIP TO SETTLE DOWN??? GOD FORBID JUNIOR GETS TOUCHED.THEY WENT OVER AND TOLD A DRIVER TO SETTLE DOWN. GIVE ME A BREAK.
I don't know where you're getting your lame ass information from. Nobody ever told them not to win, but they were commited to helping Jr. win the race since DEI is trying to win a championship.
So when they call a meeting and tell drivers that only one of you is here to lead and the others are to help push what does that mean to the drivers that are pushing? Yes or no, the sole reason the two Wallace brothers were there was to push JR?

if you were watching the pre-race show, you would have heard out of Waltrip's mouth that 'we're going to help the 8 anyway we can, just like everyone else is doing......now, does that mean that i'm going to hold back? no, i will go for it at the end if he isn't up there....but obviously they have worked hard to get where they are just like the rest and he's going to get any help myself or Kenny can give him to win the championship'
KEY WORD-----just like everyone else......why do you think Gibbs had three cars? Penske had four? and hell, Hendricks has four or five any given week!...even Yates had an extra team out there....that is the nature of plate racing......help each other out.....and if you only have ten going for the championship, the winner should come out of that ten........no one had any meetings in the spring.
Sorry, JJR can't get anything good through his head when it comes to Junior. He doesn't understand that teamwork is the key to winning there. And when it doesn't work out, you don't sit and cry about it. Gordon was on the radio whining and crying nobody would help him.... typical. Junior made do with whatever car was around him when Waltrip was far in the back.
