Interesting notes about Lucky Dog's All-Star Challenge

This will be the 4th running of the All-Star Challenge. The original race run in 2004 actually counted as a points race, but was changed to an exhibition race following that season.

40 different teams have taken part in the All-Star Challenge.

There have been 3 different winners of the race... Jerry Jones Racing, Denton Wolves, LefflerFan. The previous two winners both came from the All-Star Open.

There was no All-Star Open in the 2004 race since the league had just begun.

The format has generally remained the same each year, however the points awarded changed a bit for the 2005 season.

The most teams in the All-Star Challenge was 23 last year, however that will change this year as we already have 25 in the race with 2 more advancing from the Open.

Jerry Jones Racing currently leads all teams with most amount of points (390)scored over the past 3 years. Oceanside Racing has the 2nd most points (surprising) with 305 and is the closest team to dethrone him this year since he is no longer in the league. Other teams that could take the lead this year include Big Country Motorsports with 290, June Bug Racing with 260, CrazyAboutRusty2 and Lefflerfan with 230.

Only 5 teams have raced in all 3 All-Star Challenges.... Jerry Jones Racing, Oceanside Racing, June Bug Racing, Armchair Racing, Inc. and NASCAR Fan Racing.  Looks like it will fall to 3 teams to race in all Challenges this year as JJR is not in the league and Armchair Racing, Inc. did not qualify. However, if Armchair Racing does finish in the the top 2 positions of the Open, he can keep his streak alive.

Most points ever scored in the race was LefflerFan last year with 230

Only one team has predicted the Open winner... Trapt Racing in 2004 predicted Sterling Marlin.

Nobody had predicted the Challenge winner until last year when a number of teams picked Jimmie Johnson.

Two teams are tied with the most on the mark picks in a race (the most correctly picked exact positions) June Bug Racing and Wilson Motorsports each picked 3 in 2004. Jerry Jones Racing has the most on the mark points scored over the past 3 years. He had 5 of them including the race winner last year.

Team Echo Racing is the team with the record for most top 10's picked in a race... out of 10 drivers, he picked 8 of them in 2004.

Four teams are tied with the most 1 spot finishes in a race (driver that finished 1 spot away from where they predicted them to finish). Syracuse Alpine Racing, Diego MotorWorks, Miller Motorsports and West Coast Racing, Inc. each have 3 of them in one race.

Jerry Jones Racing has the most two spot finishes.... 5 of them in 2004.

There was no Cash Challenge in 2004, so the two winners are June Bug Racing in 2005 and Miller Motorsports in 2006. June Bug Racing and Miller Motorsports finished 3rd overall in each race. So far a team starting in the Open has not won the Cash Challenge yet. The 2005 pot was $50. The 2006 pot was $65.
Currently we have tied last year's pot with $65.00, but there's still time to break the record!

The 2007 All-Star Challenge will set new records and it will be interesting to see how it turns out. Good luck to everyone!
