I have bounced this idea around in my head for a little while and just brought it to the council. I'd like to see what some others think about it.

I have considered eliminating using team names for each individual player and create real teams with several different players on the team. Much like in NASCAR you have teams like Hendrick Motorsports with Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson, Casey Mears... and soon Dale Jr. as teammates.

I think we could do something similar in Lucky Dog Racing. Create teams with a maximum of 4 members on it. We would still have the standings for each player, but we could also have team standings as well. It's possible each member could receive bonus points depending on how their team did, but that's something that could be discussed later on.

My idea for the team standings would be to take the best score from all teammembers scores for the week. That would be the score used for the team standings. Obviously it would benefit those teams with 4 members in it... much like multi-car teams have the advantage in NASCAR.

Many players have family and friends in the league. I'm sure they would want to play as teammates with them. They could share information to gain an advantage over other teams. Some players may just want to play solo and can run as a one car team.

For those members that want to run in a multi-car team, but don't know others in the league, the league could set up a type of draft. All those players could be entered into a pool. The teams with the most seniority would pick first. If a player that was picked up by the team decides not to run with that team, they could request a trade with someone else or just run their own team.

This could create some good alliances... and rivalries in the league.

The only problem I see is using the team name. I would prefer just to keep teams and the players names. Speedy suggested also using the current handles as well, but I think it would just get to be too much with using three different identifications. The hardest part for the teams would be picking team names. Some may want to keep their name they are using right now.... some may want to use type of hybrid-name.... some may want to create a totally new name. It's really up to each individual team. I think the player in each team with the most seniority should have the final say, but that's just me.

There are many possibilities here and many different options. This could go across all three series. Remember though.... if you have teammates in other series that eventually get called up to the next series, they would not be able to join your team if you already have more than 4 members.

I'd like to hear what some others feel about this new possibility and if they have any ideas to add to it. Thanks!
