I started working on the new driver salaries that will start with the Daytona 500. There is a change this year as we have dropped the salary cap by $5,000. The new salary cap will be 175k, but the good news is that all B class drivers have dropped by 5k each.
The council felt this would incoroporate more use of the mid grade drivers.
A few drivers changed rides so their new salaries will be a little wacky for the first 5 races of the year.
Here are the salaries based on the owners points for 2008:
A class Johnson 50k Gordon 49k Bowyer 48k Kenseth 47k Mears 46k Stewart 45k Hornish Jr. 44k Burton 43k Edwards 42k Harvick 41k Truex 40k Hamlin 39k
B class Newman 34k Biffle 33k Earnhardt Jr. 32k Martin 31k Smith 30k McMurray 29k Labonte 28k Kahne 27k Montoya 26k Kyle Busch 25k Sorenson 24k Ragan 23k Yeley 22k
C class Franchitti 15k Sadler 15k R. Gordon 15k Menard 15k Kvapil 15k Mayfield 10k Gilliland 10k Riggs 10k Blaney 10k Petty 10k
All other drivers including Kurt Busch are listed at 5k each.
