I usually don't get on here and ramble too much, but I'm just a proud Dad tonight. I coach my son Jarrod's 7-8 yr old coach's pitch team and tonight was the first game of the season tournament. We were tied in the top of the seventh inning (extra innings, we only play six) with two outs and a runner on second. Jarrod comes up and DRIVES a triple over the left fielders head and then winds up scoring on an overthrow.
The other team comes up in the bottom of the inning and is one run down with two outs and the best player in the league at the plate. He hits a fly ball about 4 or 5 steps into the outfield grass and my son runs back and catches it for the last out! I know it may not be that big of a deal to y'all but I just had to brag to somebody! That's my boy!!!
By the way, we were a five seed in a seven team league and beat the two seed.
congrats Gary ! and theres always room for a feel good story . am somewhat of a braggard myself when it comes to my boys . cant wait for football season as neither of them cares for baseball . think my oldest would make one helluva pitcher as i can hardly catch footballs he throws . again congratulations on your proud moment !
Well, we won another close game today, 12-11 to advance to the championship game. But we lost it by alot of runs. My guys just didn't have anything left to give. Our last three games were one run games, two of them going to extra innings. The championship team didn't lose a game all year and deserved the championship.
Oh well, now comes all-stars. That's when it gets fun!
