I regret to inform everyone it looks like Karen Smith will be leaving the league. Unfortunately Karen is very sick and I don't believe is even capable of participating in any kind of online leagues at this point.
She informed me of her sickness a little while back but still wanted to participate in the league as much as she could. In the past few weeks she has not been able to submit her picks. Last week another member submitted them for her, but unfortunately there is only so long that can go on.
I emailed her a couple of weeks ago and never received a response so I'm assuming things are pretty serious over there, however I can't give you a status report since I don't know.
I am going to give it one more week and see if she is able to get back but I don't know. If she is unable to, I will make preparations by replacing her in all three leagues that she participates in. Currently, Chip Pizzutti would get the spot in the Cup series while Ludwig Hormann, Jr. would get that Nationwide spot.
Karen is a great fantasy player and has kicked most of our butts here at one point or another.
Send a prayer out to her and hopefully she can recover.
I know this is very sad news. The FASCAR League will send our prayers out to Karen and her family. She was a very tough player that is for sure. Holds a few records over here.
Why can't we wait for some word from her? Would hate to see her lose her spot and them be able to play again in 4 weeks. There would be no spot for her. Her team should be able to drop her so they would not be penalized for no picks. What is gained by dropping her? I knew something must have been wrong when she missed the first week. Our prayers are with you Karen.

Alright, I guess we can do it for awhile until we hear back from her. But if it lasts for a few months that way obviously it won't be changing. Let's mark the deadline for the start of the chase. That way if we bring a rookie into the Cup and Nationwide series to replace her, they can still run for the rookie of the year title next season.
Troy, Sue Perna will make Karen's Cup picks and Nationwide picks. However, can you make the Truck picks for Karen? You'll have to pick a new segment driver for her as well. Let me know, thanks!
I hope she gets well soon. Mark Martin is the only one that I know of that walks away from a top 5 ride.(last yr) GOD bless ya karen! we want ya back as soon as you can.

Well if they are called up prior to 10 races left in this season they would be included into this year's rookie race, but its not like they would really have much of a shot at the title.
