Driver appearances are starting to come in for next year's Motorsports show in Atlantic City, NJ. This is the show that we go to every year... you can see pictures of it in the race photos section, dating back to 2003.
It's held Jan. 16 & 17th at the Atlantic City Convention Center.
Kevin Harvick was just announced for Friday. Joey Logano and Johnny Benson will be there Friday and Saturday.
Patrick Sheltra from the Nationwide series and Chris Jones from the Truck series will also be there for both days too.
More drivers will be announced too. I met Kevin Harvick once already and got his autograph, but wouldn't mind getting a Shell diecast and getting his signature there.
I have a Logano autograph that my brother in-law got for me during the summer, but I've never met him. Would love to get a diecast for him. It would be nice if the new #20 car was available by then.
Never met Johnny Benson and would love to get his too.
Johnny Benson, who had previously announced he would leave Bill Davis Racing at the end of the 2008 season, will drive the #1 truck as a teammate with David Starr for Red Horse Racing, team co-owner Tom DeLoach confirmed Monday. Trip Bruce, Benson's crew chief, also has joined the team. As far as sponsorship, DeLoach said that sponsors are still being courted. Benson has won titles in the Nationwide and Truck and has 274 career Cup starts
We always use owner points.... which provides some great bargains at the start of the season. Think about Tony Stewart and Ryan Newman in the first 5 races in the Cup series!
Just got back from Motorsports 09.... pretty good show!
I picked up Dale Jr's ride along car, although I'm a little bummed. I thought they said they were going to include a card with everyone's names. There was nothing with with. Also picked up his Go Daddy.com car.
We got 4 autographs this year. First was Dave Blaney. I had a diecast autographed from him a few years ago so I elected just to get a picture card signed.
second was Kevin Harvick. I bought his 2008 Shell diecast and he signed that. We also got a picture card.
Third was Joey Logano. I bought his race used Gamestop first win diecast which he signed.
And lastly was Johnny Benson. I couldn'd find his Truck diecast, nobody was selling them, so I had to buy his 2002 #10 Vavoline car which he signed. We also got a nice postcard size 2008 Championship picture of him with his 2 trucks.
The good news for Jeff Ouderkirk was that we were able to get 2 of them, so lucky lucky, he can have the extra one. Just send me your address and I'll mail it out to you soon.
