Having attended UNC and The university of Miami I have some serious sports issues. Been a Tarheel fan since I could tie my shoes! Definitely have a problem come football season. Enjoyed the UNC defeat of Miami last year, but was kinda bummed as well. Anyway glad for Roy and the boyz. Carolina will be around for the long haul. Got 3 McDonalds All-Americans coming in next year with another top 50 player. I here Fleton and McCants are gone, but May and M. Williams will be back next year! See ya at the Final Four in 2006!! March Madness was great this year. We had some cinderalla teams advance, while the Top 2 went to the final. Can't forget the regional finals where 3 out of 4 games went to overtime. I didn't follow college bball that much this year, until conference tournaments. Its a good thing I jumped in at the right time.
How about Smoltz coming back into the rotation? although, he's never been good on Opening Day. But we finally have a rotation that the rest of the league can envy again.
even a Mets fan should know that the Braves start out cold every year.....yet somehow, we are the ones coming back and clinching the pennant every single year.
Been a Braves fan since the days of Dale Murphy and Bob Horner and we do suck every year unless we had Rich Maler pitching then that would be a win. Don't follow baseball like I do football or Nascar but try to keep up with it in the sports section. I love the dirt they shovel on us in spring training only to be 5 games up by All-Star break. Its too bad that Atlanta is the worst by far sports city in the USA. How can you walk up and buy world series tickets against the yankees on game day! I flew down for a falcon game in 1995 and scapled two tickets lower level on the fifty for 20 bucks with the upper deck almost empty.
Yeah how about the South Carolina team, won the NIT. That's nothing to brag about being the 65th best division one team. As far as North Carolina , my brother is an avid Tarheel fan, and I listen to him go on forever about the Great Tarheels. I was able to attend the East regionals at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse and the NC team has nothing to brag about. Without the obvious help of some very bad calls at the end of the game that handed them a win that the referees stole from Villanova, NC would and should have been sent home to Chapel Hill ending their season without a final four appearance. At best a hollow victory for the Tarheel team that truly did not deserve to be in St. Louis.
worst sports city? has GOT to be Denver by far...........everyone is to busy skiing.
Tarheels are number 1 for a reason...........they beat the number one ranked team in the nation who only lost one previous time. enough said.
Gamecocks should have been in the tournament anyway based on just their defense alone. that would have at least taken them to the Sweet Sixteen. so that begs the question.....win the NIT or exit early in the NCAA tourney....that is a debate for another time and place...im just happy with the results. how many other teams can say they ended the season with a win? only one other, the Tarheels.
