Nascar's call for Help.

The shape of Tuesday's big meeting between NASCAR officials and Sprint Cup teams is slowly becoming clearer: And it is now sizing up as a day-long series of small meetings, rather than any full townhall scene. Each of NASCAR's top Cup operations will have its own individual face-to-face with NASCAR executives, to discuss ideas and raise suggestions about what NASCAR could do to make Cup racing more compelling for better TV ratings and for better ticket sales. All Cup team owners and their drivers are expected to attend the sessions at NASCAR's nearby R&D center.

I was wondering what the fans would do. I know the economy is bad, so lower ticket prices would be helpful. However, I believe prices for food and drink at the tracks are outrageous. $4.00 for a hotdog or a pop seems excessive. We can usually get pop here for $5.00-$5.50 a case. A pack of hotdogs runs about a buck and so do the buns..so do the math.

I would like to see better racing. Give the teams more control and stop some of these petty rules. I know they say this keeps competition even, but anyone who watches races of yesterday..they were better...period ! I get so tired of just watching drivers play follow the leader. Its great they are asking the teams for ideas..but I think the fans is where they should be looking.  What are your opinions???

Actually I think food prices at a NASCAR event are pretty reasonable compared to other sporting events. Ever buy food at a baseball or football game?  I am floored at some of those prices.  True, the games I go to are New York ones, and those prices may be a bit higher than some other stadiums but probably not by too much.

For the ticket prices.... You can get some good deals that are cheaper than most football game prices.

Competition on the track has got to be what attracts the fans, they need to look at a number of the rules that will allow for better racing.

Maybe these meetings will be a good thing as NASCAR will listen to a number of teams and their suggestions. Wouldn't be a bad idea to have someone represent the fans too, maybe some of the top writers of NASCAR.
