I don't think it will be this year, however he will get one. I think next year DEI is going to be a stronger group with Martin Truex Jr aboard. They need to have more than just 2 cars in the field.
First of all, the boys back at the shop need to figure out how to get these cars set up for the race. Nearly every race Jr. is struggling with some handling problems with the car. Also, Jr. and Waltrip need to remember how to work together again. I've noticed there hasn't been much cooperation between the two. Maybe with Truex aboard it will be better for Jr.
I STILL feel that this year could be a championship year for Jr. Haven't lost the faith!
Many champions have only won one or two races and still take home the trophy. Tony Stewart, when he won, came on strong late in the season even without the Chase. And with the Chase, we saw what Busch did last year. He had more DNF's than anyone of the top ten except for Gordon I think, but he put all of his good finishes together at the end when they mattered most.
As for the problems with the #8 team. I think it's Rondeau. I didnt feel that way before, but he has seemed lackadaisical lately from the conversations during the race. That being said, I still think they will come out on top this year. (as long as biffle hits the wall a few times)
What are you talking about... All I said is that I don't think Gordon will win the Cup this year. I said it will be between Biffle & Johnson. Never mentioned anything about Jr. other than I don't think this will be his year. Never said anything about Jr. and Gordon going head to head.
I,m thinking about it. Just not comfortable with this scoring system. The reason is even bad finishes are negative points for alot of positions, where actual points would make a difference. Not much but it separates folks more, where as here it's more or less a tie. I am thinking seriously about it though. What race is the start of "your" second segment? Half way I guess?

July 17th at New Hampshire starts the second segment.
In regards to the scoring system, I have given some thought for next year about actually giving the points that NASCAR gives for each driver for the fantasy points here. I dont think it would be wise to introduce a new scoring format halfway through the season.
Take into account if a new scoring system like that went into effect, it would seriously change the ffect of superstar picks. Picks that finished in the bottom 30 would be worth quite a bit doubled. That would throw off people that have been conserving their picks. That's why it shouldnt be introduced next year, but could be discussed for next year.
Also Just something to note.... this is the first topic on the board to break 100 views.
I here ya! Don't get me wrong, I not knocking your scoring system. Same for all. If you'd like fill them in on my league cause that's how it's scored at espn. I'd think that would make your job easier as well. Invite your consuel to play at NAG if you like. Up close and personal look at that system for them. I can hold 50 people. Anyway have a good one Louis. Still pondering your Money Pit.

That's what JJR said to me as well. I too like the idea of drivers being penalized for finishing poorly. Yes, I guess the scoring system is one of the unique features that sets the league apart from others, so I don't think I will be changing it after all.
