Only 7 races left in the first segment of the money pit. It has tightened up considerably over the last few races. The first 4 teams are all within 100 points of each other, so anyone can take the $150 pot after Chicagoland.
After the last race of the first segment, the points will be reset for segment 2. We currently have 5 teams signed up, bringing the pot up to $125 for segment 2. It's not too early to start thinking about signing up. Let's try to get the next pot even higher!
Speaking of which... how do people like the way the money pit is setup with regards to the segments and fee?
For next year I was thinking of tinkering with it and making 4 segments within the whole year. A person could play 1 or all 4. $10 for each segment, winner take all at the end of the segment. Points would be reset for each segment, and still keep the champion fund for the champion at the end of the season.... or highest finisher in the money pit.
To play everything in the year a person would need to pay $55. $40 for 4 segments, $10 for the champion fund and $5 for the all star cash challenge. A little cheaper.... maybe would attract more players for the money pit. Gee... I bet teams like Pappy's Drivers, Gasitnpassit and High Octane are kicking themselves now. Doing real good in the standings, but can't win any money
that would be a great arrangement for next year. (i think the '$25 per' scared some of the newer teams off that didnt know if they would be competitive or not)
