Speedy, I think your right. I thought of Jr. could get a top 5 and carry that through Daytona this week that he would make the chase. But, I know a sure way Jr. can make the chase. Here it is......

Zippy, much as you proclaim to jinz.... I just don't know bout Jr. Much as I like raggin on him he's not the problem. Those boyz @ DEI need to start cleanin house. I'll agrre Jr."s attitude blows right now, but mine would too. DEI just suxs... Thats the problem. Their fixin to loose Truex to Penkis... That would be a major setback to their program..(as if they have one) Be a shame not to see tiny e in tha chase. Gordon is havnin his own problems but those can be solved. Tiny E"s are interall.

I have to agree with everything your saying except of course about Truex not coming to DEI.

I see all of the so-called Jr. fans dropping out on him (in here, the media, and casual fans I know) but I honestly don't see him as out of it yet. To many times in Nascar we have seen a team rally around each other put together a great four or five race run. That is all that is needed right now. There really is still plenty of time. I'm not saying that DEI is running perfect but, until he is in this situation with only three races, I'm not worried.

I think with Jr. running in his house that a top 5 is not out of the question here. He then needs to back that up with a top 10 in Chicago. Jr. can still make it and I think Gordon will make it. Hendricks is going through that yearly slump again.

If Jr. doesn't make the chase this year, do you think there will be a serious shake up at DEI over the off season?

Oh I'm sure there will be shake-up's at DEI, but it won't be with the drivers. They'll probably be changing a lot of the crew members around and the engine department. Although I hear they are building a new engine department now.

The only changes with the drivers will be the addition of Truex as the 3rd team. They can't justify getting rid of Waltrip since he's running better then Jr. is. He may even make the chase, who knows. The only way they'll get rid of him is if he has a dramatic falloff in the second half.

I've said it before in here.." Truex is gonna go where the money is paying him the most". I know DEI fans don't want to loose him, I wouldn't either. Penske has deep pockets! I personally would like to see him get in Crusty's ride. I think puuting him in a competitive car would benefit Martin the most. Not sayin DEI doesn't have competitive cars(well yes I am) but crusty's car is proven as is his team. Also wouldn't be surprized to see NA$CAR shake up the rules on getting in the chase if Jr. doesn't qualifiy. 400 points seems like a high number to me anyway. Haven't heard anything on that subject, but the Frances' are over due to "tweek" the rules somewhere.Good luck @ Daytona everyone, and be careful with your fireworks. Ga. just passed a new law where we can actually purchase and shot them now!! Go figure.

I really don't think Martin will be going anywhere else besides DEI. He has expressed that he is loyal to DEI and wants to stay with them. I'm sure DEI can offer the money that Penske is offering whatever it is. I don't blame him for looking at other offers, he needs to see what's out there, but when it's all said and done, DEI is where he'll stay. Right now all these rumors are floating around because he's a hot driver. The delay on the contract getting signed is just all legal mumbo jumbo with the lawyers. It will be signed soon I'm sure.

Still, if by some odd tun of events he did go somewhere else, I'd still follow him. I dont mind Penske. I don't like Rusty Wallace but Ryan Newman would be a good teammate.
