Do or die for Jr. at Daytona

If Jr. has any remote chance of making the chase, I think it's going to show this weekend at Daytona. Of the remaining races left before the chase, Daytona is one the track that Jr. can probably pick up the most points.   Never count Jr. out at Daytona no matter how bad he's doing. As long as he can avoid the big wreck and try not to do anything stupid, there's no reason why he shouldn't walk away with a  top 5 or even a win.

There are 10 races left before the chase. Jr. is 143 points out right now. Is it still possible for him to get in? Yes. Is it likely? No. Unless.... all of DEI can get their act together and really focus. So far they haven't done it this season and most of it has been from Jr. He looked good going into the road course race.. top 10 qualifying effort, 4th in Happy Hour... then bam... crashes on the 3rd lap. He's got to learn when to be patient and when to be agressive.

So 10 races left... tracks he does well on are Daytona, Bristol and Richmond. Count Watkins Glen in there too, he did get a top 5 last year. He's got to get at least a couple wins and the rest top 5's at these tracks.

So what's left... California, Chicagoland, Pocono, New Hampshire, Michigan and Indianapolis.

Well he does have four top 10's at Pocono and New Hampshire, and he'll need another couple.

Indianapolis, Michigan, Chicagoland and California are 4 tracks that he's gonna have to pick up his performance at if he wants to make the chase.

However, I think this weekend at Daytona will show everyone if he's packing it in for the season or if he's gonna try his best to go for it.

Was I listening to a different race? In his interview, he said he started the race and lost 1st and 2nd right off the bat in lap one.......that put him in the back because he started in 3rd gear........lugged ....then got going only to get tangled up causing his tire to go flat which put him in the wall. How is any of that losing his patience?????

Then, to back it up, FOX put up that stat that showed the team using new transmissions this week............who was among them? DEI and Hendrick.

D.W. had the best quote of the week.>>>>>"They took something that wasn't broke, and worked on it and worked on it until it was."<<<<<< He was talking about all the teams that messed with their transmissions.

Then Jr. said, he didn't know what that trans. was doing in there, the old one worked fine.

I really don't know if this is Theresa's tinkering with the team (I've always supported her) or if its Eury Sr. or who..........we aren't privy to that information, but anyone who says that Jr. all of a sudden lost his driving ability or that his attitude is what is bringing this team down is crazy!
