In a weird move, I think... McMurray has signed a contract to run with Roush racing starting in 2007. I think this would kinda hurt the team, working towards success, knowing he will only be with them for another year and a half. I think its weird to sign a contract for 2007 when were only in 2005.
Yes this move didn't make sense to me. I thought it was only a rumor when I heard it a few days ago but looks like this is going to be the case.
First... why would they announce a signing for the 2007 season? It's going to hurt McMurray's team this year and next year knowing their time is drawing to an end.
The #6 car still doesn't have a driver for 2006. Who are they going to get to drive just one year for them? They won't be able to get a quality driver who is going to sign for one year and then leave the next.
Maybe Ganassi will release McMurray from his contract a year early. I think that would be beneficial for all parties.
I figured McMurray would be moving, but I thought it would be to the #2 car. He's always kissing Rusty's butt since he's dating his daughter... logicial choice would be for him to drive his car.
So now Penske has lost out on Truex and McMurray. Word is they will probably sign IRL racer Sam Hornish Jr. who is alrady employed by Penske to drive the #2 car next year.
I like this move personally. Roush will probably lock up JMac later I would think. No one else really ready for that car. Bet Reed's smiling right about now. Be good people.

This move makes sense if Roush is looking at putting Marlin in the #6 next year. He's available and Jaime isn't until '07. Jack Roush probably figures that Marlin could hang for one year.
