Is his season 'still over'?

I told you guys to keep the faith!  9 races left and only 113 points out of the top ten! after making up 5 spots in two weeks, I would say thats attainable.

I think Steve getting the teams to work together is paying off.

I wouldnt get too worked up over this win, lets face it he won the race not because of great driving or even a great car, he won because alot of better cars made misstakes. He was just the right car at the right time..

By the way, when JR was doing well last yr and Waltrip was struggling, why didnt they share info and be a team then?

Don't get all crazy now  Toozie. Alot of work ahead. I will say though I had no problem seeing them finally get a win. Coarse Jeff"s luck stayed the same. Those guys justaren't gettin it done.

Great job by Jr... he needed that. I knew Jr. would win at least one race this season, but didn't think it would come at Chicagoland. A good call by Steve Hmiel taking 2 tires and getting that track position.

Maybe some of the talk will die down now about Jr. getting into the chase. This was one of the tracks I was worried about getting a good finish. I would have been happy with a top 10. This team can definately get it down, and I think in about 2 or 3 races, he will be back in it. But yes, there is still some work that needs to be done.

Now as for Jeffy boy.... well now... thats a different story.

Who wants to start taking bets at which driver will make the chase?  I can smell a new poll coming up soon....

sorry dude, but it has always been Waltrip who didnt want to share info, even when Jr. was running better. Jr. did run well, within the first hundred laps, he made up fifteen spots.........then ran in the top ten all day, in and out (7-12)...........then took advantage of pit strategy (a winning move).......I never said he had the dominant car, but the facts are he won the race and that is what matters.

My point was the fact that everyone said his season was over and after two good races (one at a track he previously struggled at), he is 'back' in the hunt while your golden boy is free falling.

as for upcoming races, Indy is worrisome but the others, he will do fine at the others.

Man, let me say that the jinx is still working. I said he wouldn't make the chase two weeks ago and look what has happen. 3rd at Daytona and now his first win of the season. You Jr. fans should just thank me.

Lou, you usually are pretty close on your calls but I just gotta call you out on the Gordon comment. Jeff's an alarming 11 points behind Jr. You make it sound like an enormous lead. You name the cost you can afford to loose and I'll bet ya Jeff still finishes ahead of tiny e! I'll be waiting to here from ya big guy. Note: Jr. didn't speed to victory either...it was pit stratagy. Again don't get all crazy. I know you e fans were jonesing for a win and I still didn't mind seeing him get"1".  Peace dudes..and chicks.

No, I didn't say Jr had an enormous lead over Gordon, did I?  However Jr. is getting on the right track now while Gordon is still struggling. 6 DNF's for him. Is that a record?

However, I'm not going to bet that Gordon will not make the chase. I think he will along with Jr as I said awhile back. However if I had to choose between the two, I'd say Jr would make it over Gordon.  I will bet that Jr. will make the chase if you bet that he won't.

I think they both will. And as I said Super G will be ahead of him. Either way G ahead of E! You in?

ok, been thinking about it, I'll take the bet.

How about this:

If Gordon & Jr. both make the chase, $25 to the winner of either Gordon or Jr. finishing ahead of the other.

If Gordon makes the chase, and Jr doesnt... $50 to you.

if Jr. makes the chase and Gordon doesn't.   $50 to me.

If neither one makes the chase, the bet will be called off.

Good call Galaxy..Perfect name! Sounds reasonable lou. Just to clarifiy 10 more races if they both make da chase, right? Your on! My word is my bond. Little added incentive to watch now. Course if Gordon wrecks anytime soon, that thunder you here will be me screaming for Hotlanta!  Take care buddy.

Consider this post verification Lou. Dang, though I was gonna be spending some of my favorite kind of cash...Jr fans cash! lol Oh well, As long as Super G beats tiny e it won't be a total wash of a season. I think The CUP will go to Jr. or Super G next year though. Those teams will be on a mission.
