Paul Menard set to make his Nextel Cup debut at the Glen

Menard to run at Watkins Glen in #1: DEI #11 Busch Series driver, Paul Menard will attempt to make his first DEI Cup start at Watkins Glen in the SIRIUS Satellite Radio at The Glen on August 14th. Menard will drive the #1 Kraft Chevy. Menard will run in the Busch Series in 2006 with select Nextel Cup starts and plans got a full-time Nextel Cup ride in 2007.(NASCAR Scene Magazine). but been told Menard will not be in the #15 car in 2006 or 2007.(7-28-2005)

I'm a bit surprised.... I thought Menard would be in the #15 ride. That means DEI definately plans to go to a 4 car team in 2007. So the big question remains on who will be in the #15 car.  Latest rumors are that Kenseth is not happy with McMurray becoming his teammate at Roush. Kenseth might want to bolt and where else better to go then become teammates with his buddy, Dale Jr.

Dale Jr, Martin Truex Jr, Paul Menard and maybe Matt Kenseth all on one team? Sweet....

I'm surprised they picked a road course for Menard to try out his first cup ride. He didn't have a good finish at the Mexican road race earlier in the year. Little strange.

I think Menard has some history with the Glen in other series.

As for Kenseth, I too would love that pairing as many DEI fans would I'm sure. Did you see the interview with him in the prerace? He made it very clear that he never wanted Mcmurray at Roush and he doesnt plan on being there long now.
