2010 Week 39 Results - Phoenix

What a fight we will have in the final races of the season. The past few seasons of the streak to the finish we've known who the winner is by Homestead but this year we have 3 potential players that can walk away as Champion.

We were all set to hand Lefflerfan the trophy this year but the last number of races haven't been to kind to him and he lost that 200+ points lead. Now the odds are against him that he will win thanks to what Ampracing88 has done. AR88 has stretched his Nationwide streak to 13 weeks now.

Here is the situation for Homestead. Lefflerfan currently has a 2 week Truck streak. If he picked the winners of all three races, the most points that he could gain would be 55 points and give him a total of 1792 for the season.

Currently Ampracing88 is 30 points behind Lefflerfan. If he is able to extend his Nationwide series streak to 14 weeks, that will give him at least 71 points, temporary putting him ahead of Lefflerfan. He would need to be successful in the one of the other two races though. Depending on what Lefflerfan does in the Truck series, that could seal the fate for him right there.

Now it's only up to these two... xrays still has a good shot to take the Championship. Right now he has a 4 week cup streak, 4 week Nationwide streak and 1 week Truck streak. If he picked all three race winners he would gain 90 points for the week and pass both of them.

Who knows what will happen, but my bet would be on Ampracing88 if he gets that 14th week. He had the high score this past week after scoring a total of 106 points. That is the first time that anyone has scored triple digits this season. In fact that is just one point shy of the all-time record scored by Lefflerfan last season.

J Rods Hot Rods took 2nd this week with 96 points. He's too far back to go for the championship but if xrays failed all the way around next week he could finish in 3rd place.

After all the talk about the championship we also have to mention an all-time streak that has been tied. TCB Racing set a new record for the season after taking his Trucks streak to 11 weeks. That puts him into a tie with Hunter4U9 for the all-time record. He will have a chance to break it in Homestead.

Edit: scratch that, TCB Racing did not break the streak. I was looking at his current streak and did notice until now that he had used Bodine twice. I will have to go back and correct those scores.

Everyone will definately have their eyes focused on these three final races for sure.

Wow this might be the biggest choke since the Yankees blew a 3-0 series lead to the Red Sox.

AMP- pick Danica at Homestead, make it interesting!!

That's correct, streaks do not carry over to new seasons.

As a Jason Leffler fan, I can tell you that is 100% true.
