It was the closest race in league history and the championship could have gone to anyone. Larry Scroggins had a 6 point lead over Stephen DiCaprio while Ryan Smith was 15 back. Would the championship go to any of those three?

Gwen surprised everyone (myself included) by coming from 4th place, 33 points back to take the Championship. Her husband may have 4 championships in the Nationwide and Truck series, but Gwen was able to get the cup championship first. She's the first female champion and the first that I was actually able to congratulate in person. So I send out a very personal congratulations to her, nice job hon!!

Lou Demian moved up to 4th to make it 3 Intimidator Racing Inc. drivers in the top 5. Socal Racing teammates Harry Jeffery took 5th and 6th.
