(first off, I know this Group of Topics are for the Prez and V.P. to post in, but I didn't think this belonged in the regular Nascar News section)
Initially, I was going to copy and paste the discussion from the chat into an article, but the content was way too high, so I'll post the highlights in here.
Superstar Drivers vs. Segment Drivers - this was probably the most discussed topic and evenly divided among the members who were present in the chat. Vote will be put to the full Council on what will be next year. The chat session was the time to let your voice be heard on this subject.
Scoring System for Lucky Dog Teams in each weekly race. - It was discussed on tweaking the scoring of drivers 1-10 in the Cup race and thus rewarding a team for picking a driver that does well. President will post the new scoring for next year once it becomes final.
Submitting Drivers for each weekly race. - Penalties were discussed for teams failing to submit their picks each weekend and then it was decided to leave the penalties as they currently are. (see rules page)
The Scott Pruett Fiasco - No better way to put it. It was discussed on the situation that happened where teams did not receive Pruett's points because he raced in Marlin's car when he failed to qualify in his own car. The Chat members decided to leave the rules as they stand.
Busch Drivers Realignment - Many different ideas surfaced on how to make the Busch Drivers less confusing and cluttered. The answer wasn't as simple to find. Stay tuned for further announcements on this one.
League Entry Fee - President Lou and V.P. Shawn decided that there would be a mandatory league entry fee of $5 starting next year. ($8 for two years) This would be to help the Prez facilitate costs of running the league that he has run out of his own pocket the last two years.
Busch ROTY - new award to be given out starting next season. stay tuned for scoring on this one, but then again, if you are reading this now, you won't be eligible more than likely.
There were a few other ideas, but none of them gained any momentum or backing by more than one or two members so they will not even be considered for implentation.
Thank you to those teams that joined the chat session and hopefully we can have another one in the offseason sometime.
no, I couldnt get it...........when i went to copy and paste, it only showed up to about the busch series realignment...........I guess it erased what we had talked about previous as the chat session extended itself...........had I known that before, I could have copied and pasted as we went along. sorry.
But remember, anytime you or anyone else has a comment or suggestion, you can post here in the message board or even email or post privately to any of the Council members and we can put it up for discussion then.
Hopefully we will have another Chat Session in the off season that everyone can attend............if only to listen directly as its being discussed.
Sorry i missed it guys, had family business to take care of, my only grip was the busch series picks list. that one section, 3 i think, has like 100 drivers in it!! take out the non regulars and put them, if they go to the race and you choose to run one of them, in the write in section. It would be alot less confusing. I would like to see more info on the hot topics if yins could post it somehow. thanks M
The Busch Series groups list is the first item that we will tackle. I just sent an email out to the council members with my proposal of how the groups should be done next year.
Once it is voted on and finalized, I will post the info.
