Yep, I was on the 6th floor at the job when the earthquake hit. The whole building was shaking. it was very strange and a bit disturbing. its one thing when you see it on tv but its another thing when its happening to you. Luckily there wasn't much to it.
Now we are gearing up for the hurricane looks like we will get hit on Sunday. oh joy.
This stupid Hurricane better not ruin my fantasy football draft scheduled for Sunday afternoon. It's live, in person and it's a 45 minute drive for me. Not sure if it's worth risking going out during a Category 2 Hurricane, lol.
Storm is going to be crazy! We're all trying to find places to put our cars during the storm as we expect trees to be down everywhere... now just gotta find a place in the house to go where falling trees won't hit us! Should be a fun and interesting weekend.

How did every one make out after the storm? My work is still with out power. I never lost power few large tree branches down about it. Chain saw took care of them.
Surprisingly we did ok compared to other parts of the state. We lost power for a few hours, but after that it was on for good. We got a lot of wind and rain, branches down and some trees in the neighborhood. Scariest thing was all the tornado warnings that kept popping up.
Other parts of the state, more central and north got hit a lot harder with massive flooding, power still off and a number of homes really damged. Few people were also killed too unfortunately.
I lost power for 26 hours and boy did it suck. Had a huge tree fall in my yard, destroyed my fence. But 3 other houses in my neighborhood had trees fall on their houses, so I consider myself lucky.
