Scoring for next year

The council has voted on the change for the top 10 in scoring.

Beginning next year, the top 10 will be scored as followed:

10th will get 10 points

9th will get 15 points

8th... 20 points

7th... 25 points

6th... 30 points

5th... 35 points

4th... 40 points

3rd... 45 points

2nd... 50 points

And 1st... 60 points.

If the race winner gets the most laps and is the pole sitter, they will receive 75 points.

Lou, just a couple of questions.

1.  Will the drivers get 5 extra points for leading a lap.

2.  From your post no one gets points for anything under 10th place, correct.

Besides these questions .. I like the new scoring system.

No, the rest of the scoring below the top 10 will stay the same as it is now.

Yes, you will still get 5 points for leading a lap.

Great Conclusion council. Looks like a much more performance based scoring method. Five good picks will be needed, and won't be able to be outscored by one lucky superstar pick and four not so good picks. Two thumbs up!!!

Yes I feel we made a good decision. The superstar option was a good concept, but it took something away from the rest of your picks.

Next year I think we'll see a lot more repeat winners and teams that are able to dominate more. You won't have those teams that get lucky and pick the winner as their superstar and the rest of the picks not as good. The race winner will truly have the best picks out of everyone.

Plus what's good for me is that I'll have less to keep track of, and there won't be as many race corrections afterwards either. I think about 95% of the corrections this year were because of the superstar picks.
