If you are curious to see what the top of the standings would look like this year if we hadn't run the chase format, here's what they would have been:
1. Miller MotorSports would have still won the championship. Pappy's Drivers would had been leading the standings the last 9 races, but Miller MotorSports would have pulled out ahead in the final race. 4252 points
2. Pappy's Drivers would have come in 2nd place instead of 4th. 4220 points
3. Intimidator Racing would be 3rd instead of 5th. 4086 points
4. CrazyAboutRusty would have come in 4th instead of 8th... big difference there. 4056 points
5. Bump And Go Racing would be 5th instead of 10th. Another big difference. 4021 points
6. Gasitnpassit would be 6th instead of 9th. 3955 points
7. High Octane would be 7th instead of 2nd... guess he was glad for the chase. 3947 points
8. Top Dawgs would be 8th instead of 3rd... another happy chaser. 3934 points
9. Jeffjoeracing would be in the top 10 at 9th place instead of 12th. 3919 points
10. Jeff Burton Racing would be 10th instead of 6th. 3863 points
11. Jerry Jones Racing would be out of the top 10 at 11th place instead of 7th. 3808 points
12. Diego Motorworks would be one spot down to 12th instead of 11th. 3787 points

Thanks very interesting. Just shows what can happen when you choke the last 5 races. Also would be interesting to figure the standings without the superstar points. Just in case you have nothing better to do Lou.
That would be interesting too see how things would come out. I dont' thinke it would hurt me a bit, seeing how I'm one of the bottom for Superstar points earned. I think great picks like Kurt Busch and Phoenix were part of the reason(What an Idiot). It would be interesting though to see who would and wouldn't have wins and where everyone would have finished for the year.
It wouldn't quite be a true representation if we didn't count in the superstar points. I'm sure a lot of people used a driver in a certain race just because he was available as a superstar. They might not have used him if he couldn't be used as a superstar.
