Just wanted to give everyone and up to date about changes to players and teams that are going on during this off-season.
As mentioned already, Paul Scannell joins Racing Traditions, Inc. to become a 4 car team again.
For the first time ever, two new members who will be competing for rookie of the year will be joining together on a team. Brian Blair and Matt Minnich are forming South Mountain Motorsports. I'm still trying to get all the details before the team is finalized, but it should be interesting to watch during the year.
One of our original members will not be returning. John Sherman informed me this past weekend that after 9 seasons, he is stepping away from Lucky Dog Racing. I'm not sure the status of Mafia Motorsports yet since he was the owner. Hopefully we'll find out soon. We wish John luck and thank him for his time playing with us and serving as a council member. Since John is leaving, that only leaves myself and Gwen as the only two members from that first race and just 4 members total who race during the 2004 season.
John's departure opens the door for Natalie Jones who will be coming up from the Nationwide series. That means we will have three rookies to start the season... unless there are any more surprises prior to the start.
Also I just wanted to let everyone know that I just finally updated the out of date birthday list too!
I have been informed that Mafia Motorsports will close up shop for a 2nd and final time with John Sherman now leaving. The three remaining members are going to form Slingshot Motorsports and Ray Perrotta will be joining them as well. good luck to them!
