And another one bites the dust. A week after Kevin Sullivan tried and failed to tie the all-time Cup streak record, Paul Scannell had the next chance to do so at Talladega. Picking a top 10 finishing driver on a plate track can be one of the most difficult things to do. Unfortunately the chips did not fall the right way for Paul after he picked Kasey Kahne. Kahne was out of the race fairly early on after the first big one. At least he didn't have to sit through the whole rain delay wondering if he would get it.
This week Ed Blackman gets the top score of the week with 56 points. He was one of four players to be lucky in both races. He picked Kenseth in the Cup series and Kahne in the Nationwide series. He also gained 2 spots in the standings to move to 5th place.
Greg Eichele finished 2nd with 55 points after picking Johnson and Logano. He currently has the longest streak going in the any of the series with a 7 week Nationwide streak. He was also able to capitalize on Paul Scannell's misfortune by closing in on him. Greg is now just 9 points behind him for the lead in the standings.
Chip Anglin also was successful in both races after picking Kenseth and Kurt Busch. He has the 3rd highest total with 50 points. He also moved one spot to 7th place.
