It was a record setting week at Indianapolis and Eldora in week 22 of the streak to finish. Lou Demian set not just one but two records. First, he finally was able to break the Nationwide streak of 15 weeks that was held for the last few years. It was originally set in 2009 by Jessy Turgeon and later tied by Lou Demian and Kevin Sullivan last year. Now Lou sets a new record of 16 weeks after picking Paul Menard who finished in 6th place. He'll try to take it to 17 weeks at Iowa but it gets more and more difficult every week.
The other record that he broke was the all-time weekly points record. He held the old total of 133 points set last year but after being successful in all three races this week, he sets a new total of 142 points. That adds even more points to his league leading total. He's now on cruise control, trying to get that third championship. He now has a whopping 353 point lead over Randy Cook in 2nd place.
Randy did get the 2nd highest points total for the week after scoring 79 points. He also was successful in all three races as well. Randy has a chance to set a new record as well since his truck streak has now reached 8 weeks. The all-time streak is 11 weeks held by Daniel Buddenhagen, Kevin Sullivan and Mitch McCown. Randy will need 3 more successful weeks to add his name to that list.
The third highest score went to Kevin Sullivan who scored a total of 60 points after successfully picking in all three races.
Next week all three series are in action again so it's possible we could see more records broken.
