Yes NASCAR did something, but the driver who caused all the problems went un-punished. (Bowyer) Sure he lost 50 points but he is still in the Chase. Here is what I believe NASCAR should have done. When Bowyer pulled his stunt, NASCAR should have froze the field, and threw the checkered flag, giving the win to Newman, and letting the rest of the cards fall. Personally I am not a fan of the Chase, never have been. I believe a driver should be a champion for 36 races, not 10 races. Being a champion for a 10 race schedule is not the same. NASCAR has an image problem, the racing is not as good (too many rules) Too many races involve drivers just following each other around, waiting til the last 10-15 laps before they start racing. and then they talk about what a great race it was, when there is an exciting last 10 laps. NASCAR quit giving attendance figures because we see way too many seats empty at every track now. Sure the economy, and people out of work, and the cost, are factors, but I think the bad racing is a factor as well. Giving the race teams more freedom to build their cars, get rid of the restrictor plates, and as Harvick said....put Bristol back to the way it was before!!! That would be a good start.

I just feel bad for Truex, he didn't know what was going on. He raced his ass off to get into the Chase. You saw how emotional he was afterwards.. and then for NASCAR to take that away from him. not his fault his employers are a bunch of cheaters. It just sucks.
I am really getting tired of all the crap NASCAR does, had Clint waited 2 corners pretended to get loose and taken out Jr no one would have known. All the crap that happens with mystery debris, restart bunk (like Menard and Edwards), penalty differences, big team v. little team and foreign v. domestic. If it is boys will be boys then this should be allowed, if it is not then get in there and stop all the bull crap. I am also sure Dale Jarred Jr is paying a secret fine to NASCAR after his restart comment.
This is something that has always happened in racing, Dale Sr. died getting Mikey a win. If you are a dirt tracker this sort of thing is common place. Cheater or good team mate. How about pulling over to let a teammate lead a lap? slowing down when you are about to lap a teammate? Tossing a water bottle out the window? Sharing info between Roush and Penske? (Ford's recent rebound)
This is one of the main reasons I don't go to NASCAR races any more, plus I can take my kids to the local dirt track 3 or 4 times for the cost of one big race. I am also only an hour from Eldora which always puts on a good show.
Well thanks for letting me complain a lot and put in my 2 cents.
Now we are finding out that there was radio chatter between the 38 and 22 car. Logano needed the spot to put him into the Chase. Apparently the deal was made with the 38 car who allowed the 22 to pass him to gain the spot needed. If NASCAR was to check lap times of the 38 and find he did slow to allow it, then the 2 cars should be penalized as they did to the MWR racing teams. NASCAR screwed the pooch in this race. Bowyer went un-punished, Newman should have been the race winner (Edwards stole that win), or did NASCAR give it to him? This whole situtation has given NASCAR A black eye just when it did not need one.
Penske deal with Front Row at Richmond to help Logano? UPDATES: Penske Racing may have cut a deal with Front Row Motorsports in the closing laps at Richmond for track position to help get #22-Joey Logano in the Chase for the Sprint Cup championship. In radio communications reviewed Wednesday by The Associated Press for Front Row driver #38-David Gilliland, his spotter informs the team of a request to let Logano pass him in the final laps of Saturday night's race. Logano was trying to claim a spot in the 12-driver Chase field. Both Penske and Front Row are Ford teams and thus considered partners. A voice on the radio, believed to be crew chief Frank Kerr, asks who the request is coming from. The spotter replies: "We've got the big dog and all his cronies." Kerr then says: "Travis knows what I've been asking for," an apparent reference to Penske Racing competition director Travis Geisler. Logano passed Gilliland on a restart and finished 22nd, one spot ahead of Gilliland and good enough for a berth in the Chase field. "Good job, good job, man," the spotter says after the race. "Hopefully we'll get something out of that." Statistics analyzed by AP also show Gilliland's lap times dropped off by almost 1 second from the times he was running prior to the radio communication.(Associated Press)(9-11-2013) UPDATE: "NASCAR is aware of reports about the #22 and #38 radio communications at Richmond International Raceway and is looking into it, but has yet to see anything in full context that requires any action."(NASCAR)(9-11-2013) UPDATE 2: Thursday morning release from NASCAR: "NASCAR is continuing to gather all the facts from last Saturday nights NASCAR Sprint Cup Series event at Richmond International Raceway. NASCAR will have no further comment until all the facts have been examined. "(NASCAR)(9

People in NASCAR cheat. OH NO!!!!
I find this all so laughable. Well I know one thing for sure it is going to get better because Jimmie Johnson wants NASCAR to monitor all radio chatter. LOL now that hendrick is involved there will be no more cheating.
Ouch! I think I just bit my tongue which was firmly in my cheek.
Put it all back to the checkered flag results and let it be. Every team in the garage tries to cheat.
Adding a 13th team to the chase? Maybe? NASCAR had better hurry up...race is Sunday! Yes Paul, all teams do probably cheat, but they dont do it in the open. NASCAR already monitors all radio communication...kinda like the NSA is probably monitoring this comment( haha)
UPDATE 3: NASCAR officials met with Front Row Motorsports crew chief Frank Kerr and spotter David Keith at Chicagoland Speedway on Friday morning to discuss Saturdays incidents at Richmond International Raceway. A separate meeting was held with Penske Racing vice president Bud Denker, competition director Travis Geisler, vice president of operations Michael Nelson, crew chief Todd Gordon and spotter Tab Boyd. Both teams reviewed radio communications and tape from the Richmond NASCAR Sprint Cup race. FRM general manager Jerry Freeze and Penske Racing's Denker said the teams would not comment until after a decision was made by NASCAR. NASCAR spokesman Kerry Tharp said no decision had been made on whether a 13th team would be added to the Chase for the Sprint Cup.(Fox Sports)(9-13-2013)

Friday the 13th was lucky for Jeff Gordon, he becomes the 13th member in the chase. This year will definitely go down in history as the strangest for the Chase.
Well, next week I'll have to add Gordon to the A class and he'll have his salary increased to 38K. He'll also be added as an additional pick for the Chaser Eraser.
SINCE NASCAR ADDED A 13TH DRIVER, SHOULDN'T LUCKY DOG ADD ONE AS WELL? LOL

Cmon guys and gals....any help here? Maybe after Lou has enough beers today, he will find it in his heart to change his mind??? If it's good enough for NASCAR it has to be good enough for LDR!!! If anything, I am persistent.

who is to say that if Bowyer didn't intentionally spin out that that you would still be in 13th place? That probably would have been Matt Minnich. There will be no 13th driver in Lucky Dog Racing's chase, that's all I have to say about this, sorry.
Too many probably's, too many what if's....Good luck to all those in the Chase!!!
