Kentucky was a costly race for points leader Dean Higley. He saw his 11 week Xfinity streak come to an end along with his 3 week Cup streak as well. Dean struck out in all three races so his points lead begins to shrink now. It allowed Lou Demian to close in on him, he was successful in all three races and extended his streaks to 2 weeks each. He had the largest total of the week with 55 points and now is within 40 points of the lead.
Terry Howell took 2nd place with 39 points and was able to gain 2 spots in the standings, moving up from 10th to 8th.
In 3rd place finishing just one point behind Terry was Ray Perrotta. He holds in 12th place but closed within 6 points of Eldon Daughenbaugh for 11th. A lot lower than where last year's champion was at this time.
