Just like last season, Daytona wasn't too bad to pick in the first week. Last year 2 players struck out with all 3 of their picks and once again that was the case this year.

Last year one player was successful with all three of their picks but this year two players were and as a result they are both tied at the top of the standings.

Merline Glenn and Ray Perrotta both picked Hamlin, Cindric and Creed and scored 36 points.

Three more players all tied for the 2nd most points with 26. They all made the same picks of Hamlin and Cindric but struck out with their Truck pick. Those players were Ron Blackman, Lou Demian and Gary Wheat.

Six players in total were successful in 2 races while 3 salvaged one race.
