I never noticed this until I just saw it on Jayski's site...
Little Debbie sponsorship note: The #21-Wood Brother's part time sponsor, Little Debbie snacks, is run by Seventh Adventists. From sundown Friday till sundown Saturday, the team has to cover all Little Debbie logos on the hauler, wear non-L. D. attire and remove all L. D. livery from the race car.(Autoweek)
So, since I wasn't too familiar with Seventh Adventists, I looked it up.
The Seventh-day Adventist Church is a Christiandenomination which, as its name suggests, is most well known for its teaching that Saturday, the seventh day of the week, is the Sabbath. The denomination, which was officially established in 1863, grew out of the Millerite movement in the United States during the middle part of the 19th century. Seventh-day Adventists are also known for their teachings regarding diet and health, and are set apart from other Christian groups by their beliefs in the unconscious state of the dead and in an "Investigative Judgment" said to have commenced in 1844.
Diet and health.... wow, who knew Little Debbie snacks were good for you? Damn.... I'm on a diet, guess I better go stock up on some cosmic brownies, zebra cakes, and boston cream rolls to help lose some weight.
So does this mean that Little Debbie can't sell stuff on Saturdays either? All snack foods must be taken off the shelves from sundown Friday to sundown Saturday. No commercials will be shown on tv during that time either.
