I've recently heard that Mcfarlane is no longer part of making the figures for ActionMcfarlane and thus the company is now called Motorsports Authentics (thought that was a company already), which is supposedly owned by Disney.
I saw a photo lineup and let's just say I hope they were early prototype images, they weren't as realistic but still the same style. Kind of cartoony in the faces if you ask me, and Tony is thin>!>!>!>!>!>! (what's that about???)
supposedly they have already been released to retailers in limited quantities so good luck finding them.
also included are Jr, Gordon, Kahne, JJ, Bowyer, and someelse I can't remember.
I didn't hear that McFarlane wasn't producing any more of the NASCAR figures.... that's a shame since I thought they were done very well. I have all the DaleJr, Sr. and Truex ones. Plus I also collect the football, baseball and hockey figures for my 3 favorite teams.
I didn't see anything online about the company, where did you see the news? Do you have a link to the pictures of the new lineup?
ok, i had it a little backwards..............not Disney........Winners Circle which of course is Action................don't know where I got that from.
I guess Mcfarlane is still involved in some capacity. Maybe just distribution and not the design anymore. Mark Weber, a higher up with Mcfarlane Toys, knows exactly whats going on, but has admitted that he can't comment on anything further just yet.
--my take? maybe they are having problems with the licenses or profit sharing on the items. As soon as I learn more, I'll share it.
one thing we know for sure - Nascar figures haven't been forgotten and thus we will be spending our money on more figures.
Well he should be involved in the design, as I told you in my email, those figures are a serious step down in terms of quality compared to past figures. Haven't seen any updated news at all regarding NASCAR figures on McFarlane's website.
Nothing's even listed in the release section there.
The Next new sports figures that I'll be picking up are Eli Manning in August and Henrik Lundqvist in October.
