I want to change my picks too.

What would happen if I would have submitted picks with a budget over $180,000? The rules are unclear as to what the penalties are. They only state that players must stay under 180K.

Please advise.

The problem is you didn't change them before the deadline.

You changed them after the deadline.

What would be the ruling if picks were due at 3:00PM, I submitted picks at 2:55PM and they were over 180K? You would send me an email telling me I was over the limit. Would I have 5 minutes to get my new picks in, or would I have 2 hours and 3 minutes?

Well Lou, all we have to go on is the time on the board. Looks to me like your picks were changed after the deadline.

If the only set of picks that you submitted during the week week was over the cap and you did not fix them before the deadline, last week's picks would be used with half points received.

It's your league and you will do whatever you want. I am just trying to keep it fair for the rest of the league, those of us who are bound by the rules.

whatever you say man, I also play by the rules and I'm sorry I didn't get to fix them on the board before I left for work. If its a problem I won't even bother posting on the board anymore.

Yeah I don't intend to stop posting my picks on the board. It's just funny that I make one mistake in the year of posting the wrong picks at first. I Get blamed by everyone that I couldnt log back on to fix them before the deadline because I was busy closing up shop at work for the weekend. Sorry I have other priorites that come before the league.

I wrote my picks down to take back with me home with about 5 minutes before 3:00pm and I noticed the error. Quickly made the one change but forgot to log back on the board. Left shortly after and after I got home then made the posting. Couldnt help it if I arrived home after qualifying. If I suddenly added the polesitter then yeah, that wouldn't be fair.

I'm not about to give myself a penalty since I know what happened and if people don't like it.... oh well, sh** happens.

Not really, I give slack to people. If someone were to submit their picks over the cap, I could just take it as they were and not tell them anything. Make them find out after the fact that they were over the cap and their picks would be null and void. However I will always tell someone that their picks are over the limit. I'll go and tell people at times that a driver they picked isn't in the race.

I've been known to even have a little bit of grace period for people who were a few minutes late with their picks.

Yet when something happens with me, people are quick to jump down my throat.

If people aren't happy with the way the league is run maybe I can just make it easier for everyone and not have one next year.

I do not think the President should be afforded anymore trust than anyone else. If Jeff Burton racing had done the same thing, sent in hs picks at 545, would he be afforded the same trust as Lou.

What I dont follow is, Lou, you posted your picks at 255, 5 min before the deadline. You realized your misstake before the 3pm deadline, but didnt you didnt post them.

I think you want this to be a big time league but when things go on like this, it hurts that.
There is also money involved for some people, and I think raises the biggest issue.

Never said I wanted it to be a "big time" league. It became what it became, I just let it grow on it's own.

I think you're making too much of a little thing basicly. Yeah I posted my picks, shut down, wrote my picks down to take with me back home and then realized I had gone over salary. I then quickly changed my picks but didn't go back on the board to change them.

It didn't affect anyone else's picks so I think you're making too much of a big deal. I'm not penalizing myself, I wouldn't penalize another player ither if they had submitted new picks or even a few minutes into qualifying.

You and Will can bitch all you like, but I stand firm on my decision. If you don't like it, there are other leagues out there that you may find more toward your liking.

I said you can bring it to the board if you want.  Do what you want. You always do anyway.

Yeah me too. I have been snoozing at the forum control panel. 25+ posts and speedy only posted once. (hope ur feeling betting speedy!) After 3 seasons I trust Lou and don't feel we have to question his picks. If I was late by two hours I would hope he would let me slide once as long as I didn't make it a habit.

 

As I said I always have given a small grace period to everyone. I usually only give a half hour or depending on how far into qualifying it's gone. Two hours would be too much I'm afraid, steve. Qualifying would be completed by then.

As I told Shawn over and over and over and over, my picks were completed before qualifying. I just wasn't able to get them up on the board. This is really starting to get old.
