Well in an attempt to stop the ongoing posts going on with the whole Shawn-Lou feud, I spoke to Shawn last night and he said he would only stop them if I offered an apology to him on the board. While they have ceased over here, they were moved over to the PFL board since Shawn said that is his only outlet now. Unfortunately because of that it has put a strain or possibly a cease on the Lucky Dog Racing-PFL relationship.
So while I apologize for some of the things that happened, I'm not about other things. For starters, Yes I was ticked off when the whole picks issue rose in the first place. In the past 3 years I have never had a problem posting my picks, they were always on time on the board. I didn't think it was a big deal that I was unable to post my correct picks in time. I knew what my picks were and I knew that I had them before qualifying began. The problem was is that I couldnt see it from the other side. I know what it looked like... that I had changed my picks after qualifying. I was at a big disadvantage since I'm the only person that received all picks from players, including my own. There was nobody to verify that I had a set of picks earlier in the week. If I did it, like I'm doing now, a council member would have had my original email that I could have used. So would it have been fait to dock myself 1/2 the points from my score saying that I did not submit picks in on time? No. However, since there was no way of proving myself, maybe I should have worked out some kind of compromise that would deduct some points to appease those who wanted a penalty.
Shawn had every right to question this and bring it up to the council, he was just doing his job.
I didn't see it at the time since I was ticked off about the whole idea in the first place. Yet, it was brought to the council and they voted on it. Everyone besides Shawn voted on no penalty. That's when it should have ended. Yet, I was still hounded about it.... however to be fair, it wasn't just from Shawn.... a couple other members pestered me about it as well. I tried to tell everyone that the council voted and it was over with but I guess they still weren't happy over it.
Yes, I started a mud slinging campaign against Shawn and although it was related to the topic at hand, was not the full source of it. I had other issues with Shawn regarding his job in the past, and unfortunately it came out at the wrong time. It looked like I was bashing Shawn because of his involvement in this affair, when it should not have been the case, so I apologize about that.
So the posts went back and forth between myself and Shawn. Shawn said he stopped making posts for like "9-12 hours" as he said. He was upset because I posted an email from a member who was supporting me. Shawn said I kept the issue going on there. Well, I didn't know that he had stopped.... 9-12 hours ago. So it kept going on and on and on. I didn't want it to, although I probably just should have ignored it.
Finally what broke me is a post from Bump And Go Racing entitled "kids corner". John said we were acting like kids and needed to cut it out. I agreed with John and wrote:
"Well as of right now I'm ending all this crap over this stupid debate."
What was Shawn's response?
"Why dont we your moveyour posts Mr Bump and Go to the dont have a clue section"
That showed me that Shawn had no intention of dropping this arguement anytime soon. So I decided I would have to suspend Shawn from posting for a week to cool his jets down a bit.
Shawn said that I banned him from the board. This was not a permaent ban, rather a temporary suspension only. I never expected Shawn to be so upset that he'd want to quit the league over it. However, that's what happened, but that was by his choice. I never banned him from the league. The board and the league are two separate issues.
So what's done is done unfortunately. I apologize for things starting the way they did but they never should have grown beyond that after the council vote.
I would just like to permantly put this behind us and would like the bickering to stop in both leagues once and for all.
Well I've been told that even though I offered an apology to Shawn, he's still going to create trouble over there. Should have expected it from him. Oh well, he'll start to piss people off over there as well, so I could care less. Let him have his fun.
Shawn would like to respond to the partial apology, so members can hear both sides..
I appreciate your attempt at a conclusion to the matter, however your partial apology is not what I asked for.
1 It was a partial 2 You had a chance to end this, but instead rambled on and on about things, clearly you do not want this to end. 3 You still did not admit to an abuse of power by banning me from the board.
All you did was hide a partial apology in the middle of a rambled post trying to defend yourself.
I no longer think that LD is a league that people can come to for a fun , fair game. it is ruled by a King who when questioned says "go find another league". The reason I and others do not play in the money pit is because of situations like this.
Therefore, I will continue to pursue a ending to the PFL/LD relationship and push for an alliance with the Cool Pool.
