Well I have the same option of seeing practice speeds and making changes to my picks that any other player does.

You make it sound like I'm the only one who can see practice speeds. Ummm.... I work Monday through Friday too. It's posted on the internet where anyone could see them... NASCAR does not mail them to me alone. I don't look at other people's picks either when I'm making mine. I usually make my picks at work and all picks are sent to my home address.

I'm not the only one who makes late picks or makes changes. There are quite a few others who do it as well.

However, I personally did raise this to the council to make the change of having to submit picks the day before practice and the souncil members decided they would rather wait until the off-season before making this change, however I'm sure it will be coming.

What I am saying is that I don't care if SOME people are able to check practice speeds. As the owner of this pool, I was hoping you would understand and want to make it as fair as possible for EVERY player in the pool.

While we're at it, I would also like to see your wife's picks posted on the forum each week before qualifying, since she is in the chase as well.

What I'm saying is that every person has the same opportunity if they take it. If a player really wants to see practice speeds, they can. Its not my fault if they are unable to or not. You may have missed the point when I said I wanted to change it now but the other council members thought we should wait until the off season.

And why are we bringing my wife into this? Maybe I should just post every single's members picks in the forum before qualifying?? Usually I don't have access to her picks anyway when the deadline is upon us. Most of the time it's when I'm at work and everyone's picks are on my home computer, so I can't see what they are until I get home, sometimes after the deadline.

I don't think you understand the whole point of "fairness" to EVERY member.

I don't understand first; why YOU, as the owner, do want to change this right now, but won't because 3 or 4 other people say no, to wait until the offseason. I am not the only player who has ever said this, probably the only one to say anything.

Second, why you can't post picks before qualifying. I know you post the lineup with the picks, but I am pretty sure a lot of us won't care if the lineup isn't posted with them.

Because I actually listen to what the council has to say..... I don't make all rules up by myself. That's what the council is there for.

Fine.... I can post picks without the starting lineup, doesn't bother me.... I posted the lineup for the members to see.... guess I won't bother wasting my time anymore doing that.

90% of the time though, I am at work when qualifying is going on, so I don't have the picks to post during qualifying.

Greg, I was going to bring this up in the off-season. I agree to a point. I've noticed Helton is always one of the last every single week as well. My guess is Helton as well as Lou have a chance to see whats up as the majority of us don't. This is with out a doubt an un-fair advantage. No question in my mind at all. However this year is about over and why rock the ship now? Won't happen...next year issue.

Well,

I know a lot of people, along with myself, who don't mind submitting picks earlier so you can be sure to post all of the picks before qualifying begins.

Why?

Because there is a lot riding on these last 5 races. There is a Championship to be decided, a money pit, and a lot of records at stake. Speedy, don't say **** just because it is what Lou wants, you are a council member now and can speak your own mind.

Answer me this: Who will this change hurt, this season, besides the people who rely on practice speeds to remain in the top 10 in points?

whats wild is, I can look at practice times at LD and im 9th. I cant see practice times at Coolpool and im 1st.

Miller, you got me confused with your biotech. I think my record of sayin whats on my mind stands by its self here at LD. As a matter of fact I found it amazin I was voted in as a council member because of that record of speech. However..I'm in and I'll bring it up in the "off season". Too late too even attempt something that ridculous at this point in the season. Next year..maybe,..I'm 1 vote

Spedy, before you were voted in, I actually did bring this up to the council. I was the one that wanted to implement that change for the following week when the whole picks situation happened a few weeks ago. Council members wanted to wait for the off-season so that's what happened with that. I guess some people don't believe me though.

How the **** is this rediculous? Its a simple little change of TIME. TIME! ALL that needs to be done to make everyone happy is to have picks due 12 or more friggin hours earlier. Is everyone blind? How hard would it be to change two things for the next 5 races of the season:

1.) Picks due before practice
2.) Picks POSTED before Qual

I don't get it.

Greg, You have to look at this from a League owners view. If someone posted you wanting you to drop the rule at Coolpool where you drop the your worst finisher because they felt it was unfair to someone who had all their drivers finish high, would you just do it or would you consult your concil

I have said everything I have to say. Apparently the "Council" has decided all of the sketchy picking can remain throughout the rest of the 2006 season.

I will stop here because Lou has decided to instant message me telling me not to give him my s*h*i*t. I will not, I have said all I want to say. I hope the council can do another vote... maybe public so everyone can see.

I've been speaking to Greg and he doesn't want me to listen to the council. According to him I have final say on all things. Gee.... didn't we just have an argument not too long ago when I was accused of abusing my power??

I told him that I don't make the rules and changes by myself. All changes are brought to the council to be voted on. This was brought to the council by myself to be voted on. The council decided to wait until the off season. Yet, now I'm being blamed for not making the change now.

Why bother even having the council if I don't go by their wishes??? If the council changed their mind now and decided to make this change for next week I would have no problem making the change.

Helton,

You aren't looking at it the right way. Changing the way we score is a HUGE thing. Changing the time picks are due is a minimal change that would make things more accountable.

If it were to come to something that would change the way we do scoring, sure I would definatley consult the council.

I have the emails. Lou forwarded them to me. The thing I don't get is why people think this is a HUGE change that needs to wait for the offseason?

This issue was brought to Council by Lou, and we voted to resume the issue after the season. In the past, we have made every effort to not change rules during the season. No matter what may be perceived, the only way to keep things fair in this league is to vote on issues in the off-season and not change the rules, no matter how minute, to accomadate one or two teams.

This would be a different matter entirely if say ten or fifteen teams wanted this change, but only two have spoken up so far and, weighed against a whole field, they are in the minority and thus it would wait until the offseason.

Every team in this league has internet access or else they wouldn't be here. If they have this access, then they are able to check practice speeds. It is not the fault of the league if a team cannot check practice speeds before making their picks. Everyone in here has a life and adjust to Fantasy sports in their own way. If you feel that other members have an unfair advantage over you, then it is up to you to change your habits of making picks rather than ask the league to change rules for your benefit or piece of mind.

Again, we would look at this differently if more than just a few teams wanted this vote to take place.

This is not meant to offend anyone, just to make all parties aware of how the Council looks at this issue.

Anyways. I was doing cup series qualifying for my pool, and Shawn Jackson wrote to me on AIM. I don't have any idea how he found out about this little thing, but he asked me to post some of his thoughts for him on here, since Lou banned him from the forum.

Shawn is not a part of this league. His opinions, no matter how warped they are do not count here.

I sent you the emails Greg, and members here have also backed it up as well.

I'm sure you know how credible Shawn is..... isn't that the reason why you dropped the alliance with the PFL? So you can go back to messaging him again if you choose.

Shawn said he didn't want his name associated with the league any longer.... so why does he still want it posted here then???

I agree with Tooz also. this is a next year issue, not half way through the chase. You know what, the hell with being nice on this issue, if your luck or judgement or stratagy sucks at making picks change it!! DONT BITCH ABOUT THE RULES!! I like this league, I enjoy it, and I thank Lou for taking time out of his life to run it for us. But when some people start acting like 2nd graders a throw fits when they dont get their way is getting pretty DAM ANNOYING!!! I have read the thread twice, I see everyons point, its to late in the year. And if Lou has such an 'advantage' then way is he not kicking everyones ass by 500 pts!! Maybe i can get a top 25 finish this week since i got home from work intime to see practice speeds and was one of the last 3 to make my picks. Some of you guys remind me of little jeffy G. (24) WHEN YOU DONT WIN YOU WHINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ps. have a good night
