Wally-World Series?.....how fitting!

The Charlotte(NC) Observer reports that Wal-Mart could be the replacement sponsor for the NASCAR Busch Series in 2008. Wal-Mart is the nation’s largest employer with some 1.3 million people on the payroll. And it seems there’s one of their Big Box Stores everywhere. It appears that Anheiser Busch is bailing from NASCAR’s second tier series is due to the fact that the $10 million annual sponsorship would cost them $30 million a year to stay in that series, according to published reports.

WalMart Series just sounds very odd to me.... well at least the Series would get a lot more exposure if that was the case.

Sponsoring a car is another form of advertising.... and I certainly see WalMart advertised a lot!

Plus if they want to sponsor a whole NASCAR series, that's a lot more money than sponsoring one car.

either way, that would be a corporate decision and not on a store by store basis.
