New Nextel Cup trophy unveiled

There's a link to the article and a picture here: http://www.racingone.com/article.asp?artnum=20658

I don't know, call me traditional but I like the look of the old one better. This one is a little too small, only 24 inches tall. However, I do like the fact that the cup will feature the names of all past champions since 1948.

yeh its a decent enough trophy........you know Nascar and Nextel just had to change something else..............its like they are over compensating for something.........like maybe they know the quality of racing and the coverage isnt what it used to be a few years back.

the trophy i thought that was cool as hell and cant wait to see someone receive next week is ............you guessed it! ...........The Monster Mile Trophy!...........

one question though, you know how they are going to have a 1/24 diecast of the winner already in hand so it looks more authentic? what happens when a Morgan Shepard or a Kirk Shelmerdine win it all by some miracle? or if a driver is running a special paint scheme? isnt going to look to authentic then....i know, im always complaining about something......lol

Do you know what the odds are of those two winning a race? 95% of the time they are out of a race in the first 5 laps.
