I agree somewhat with what Stewart is saying. Maybe he shouldn't have lashed out on radio.... of course that is a freedom of speech. Not in NASCAR's world though.
I don't think NASCAR throws random cautions just to tighten the field up, but lots of times when I see the piece of debris, I'm like..... "That's it??"
Like a little piece of tape off to the side or something.
NASCAR does need to keep safety in mind first, but they do need to try and be a little more selective with their cautions.
What killed me was early on in the race, that garbage bag flying all around the corner of the speedway for about 25-30 laps before Nascar finally called a debris caution. Even the broadcast crew showed it on camera about four times.
Its not the debri cautions that bother me....its the amount of laps it takes to pick up one piece of whatever it is. Once the cars are slowed, pick it up and give them the one to go. This might make the pit stop more exciting as well.
