Bobby Cox tied for 4th in mangerial wins All-Time

PITTSBURGH (AP) -- Atlanta's Bobby Cox tied Sparky Anderson for fourth place in career managerial victories when the Braves beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 4-1 on Friday night, Cox's 2,194th victory in the majors.

Cox has a 2,194-1,698 record in 26 seasons with the Braves and Toronto Blue Jays, whom he managed from 1982-85 between stints with the Braves that began in 1978. Cox was managing his 3,895th game, counting three ties, while Anderson -- the former Reds and Tigers manager -- needed 4,030 games to reach 2,194.

Connie Mack is the career leader with 3,731 victories in a record 53 seasons, or nearly 1,000 more than any other manager. John McGraw is second with 2,763, and Cardinals manager Tony La Russa is third with 2,311 going into Friday night's game in San Diego.

Well, 1st place isn't going to happen, Cox would have to be like 127 or something by that time.  Second is attainable......6-7 more seasons to get 569 more wins....can easily be done when you manage the BRAVES.  La Russa should be losing his job this year and whatever team he lands will probably be a project, so his wins won't climb as quickly.
