I was just thinking out loud and wanted to get some other opinions. Mark Martin is currently 11th in points with a still limited schedule in front of him. What do you think his chances are to make the chase as a part timer? How is that going to make Nascar's points system and layout of the chase look if a part timer makes it into the chase?
I guess it depends on how many more races he'll run before the chase. Did he lay his schedule out anywhere? If he only missed 1 race. I'd say sure... he could make it. 2 more might be too much.
he has missed two races i think...........either way, I honestly don't think he will make the Chase even if he doesn't miss anymore races.........for the sole reason that all the guys around him in the standings are much hungrier than him for it.
mark has missed three races so far but after michigan he is supposed to take off a couple races again . that should let the leaders separate themselves from him . i saw where regan is scheduled to drive his car in 11 races total . i personally admire him even more this year , sucks he's driving a bowtie but he's showing he's his own man . after all he has given nascar its cool he can go out each week be competitive and take a mini vacation here and there . evidently ginn is a class act as well allowing mark the freedoms he has . another good ole boy from carolina !
