Hey Lou, I am assuming this team thing is a side item. Everyone would be competing for the individual driver award just like this year correct? I am also intrigued by the team concept. Count me in favor of it.

Will it work on Busch or/and Craftsman or only in Sprint Cup ?

Yes, everyone would still be competing for the championship as individuals. However, I have come up with something to act as bonus points to help the yourself and your teammates.

I played with this in my head for awhile and thought... well, people wouldn't want others to do well, even their teammates, because everyone would be out for themselves. However, I think I have something that will benefit you if your teammates do well in the race. Therefore, you will be rooting for your teammates.

And yes, my plan is to make this happen in all three series.

lets, hear your ideas! this is going to be a long offseason with this much stir so early about this new team concept! i love the idea of awarding bonus points for your teamates performance! awesome idea! I think we need to make the bonus points enough so they really make a difference! now lets hear your thoughts

we'll have to find out when council members are available.

Lately my calendar has been a little more full, but generally weekdays between 7:00-10:00.... Although I'll be home late tonight (wife wants to see Harry Potter).

Certain times during the weekends.... Maybe Sunday morning a little while before the Cup race, or sometime on Saturday between the Busch and Truck races.

ok, we'll see what some of the other members say.

I have a few ideas of things that we can do, and a few different bonus point options.

I think my favorite is this:

Each teammate that finishes within the top 10 receives bonus points. If you win, you receive 10 points.... finish 10th, receive 1 point. Each teammate has all their bonus points added together and the combined score is awarded to each of your teammates.
Also, there could be deductions for finishing in the bottom 10 (positions 34th to 43rd). 34th place has -1 points taken away while finishing dead last has 10 points taken away.

So say you have 4 teammates. One won the race.... another came in 8th place... another finished 25th and another finished 40th place.

10 points..... plus 3 points.... plus 0 points... plus -7 points....
6 points would be added to all 4 teammate scores in the standings.
On the standings sheet we would have a separate column tracking teammate bonus points as well. The team with most combined points would receive special awards at the end of the year.

as for the chat, weekday nights are good, but Sunday morning is better.....Saturday during the day is very IFfy, I get off work at various times on Saturdays.

as for the bonus point thing, I'm not sure about that one. Myself, I would more than likely be one of the ones benefiting from it more than helping someone else out.....I wouldn't want to drag my teammates down because of my poor performance..............bonus points are okay, but I dont think it should be as much as the one proposed above.

also, if we are going to incorporate all the leagues together, we shouldn't have more than two Cup teams per Team to start off with. I realize I am in the minority here, but those are my thoughts on this.
