Can't believe they came back from a 3-0 defecit to beat the all-mighty Yanks. Maybe their long curse is finally coming to an end this year. Well I'm a Mets fan but I'll be cheering for the Red Sox this World Series. Since they haven't won the WS since 1918, I think they are kind of overdue. Besides, I'll cheer for any team that beats the Yankees. Plus we beat them in the World Series back in 1986, so they can have this one.
I can't believe that the Yankees 'choked' the way they did. This is right up there with Buster Douglass KO'd Tyson in Toyko, Villanova over Georgetown and of course the Miracle on Ice in 1980. I don't follow baseball as closely as I do football or Nascar but this is HUGE! Its never ever happen in baseball and only twice in Hockey.
Now, lets see what happens now in the Series. Will they just be satisfied to beat the hated Yankees or will they be destiny team this year and win the whole thing. I think they will fall short but it would be nice to see them win because it only happens once or twice a century. I would of paided big bucks to be in Steinbrenner's box last night.
It's never happened in the NBA either. Of all teams for this to happen to, the almighty Yankees! I find it extremely funny actually.
Yeah, I would have loved to be a fly on the wall in Steinbrenner's office. The big bucks they put down on A-Rod and Sheffield, this year.... too funny!
Should be interesting to see what happens in off season. One wonders even if Torre's job might be in trouble.
they are the best in baseball for years to come. Yankee will fall down for the next three years. Hope they play the Houston so that the roger will fell down too.
Im a Braves fan and when they got knocked out, i stopped watching the playoffs...thats loyalty.
the Yankees are by far the best team of the last decade, and no one should feel bad about their performance.......Torre isnt in jeopardy, he still got them within one win of the Series.......how many managers can say that?
I despise the Yanks when the Braves play them, but they get my respect for taking advantage of no salary cap and keeping the team working together for how many straight years? the only other team to have that much consistency in success? you got it, the Braves....13 straight years......
not waiting every fifty years to get a shot at winning the big one.
