We're not starting multi-car teams yet in either of those two leagues, but when we do, I think it should work like this:
Members who are team leaders in the Cup series..... essentially are the owners, and perhaps thats how we should refer to them. (Even though they don't really own the cars... because if a member left a team, he keeps his same car).
At any rate, team owners in a Cup series must keep the same team name in the Nationwide and Truck series if they race there. They do not need to keep the same members in those other two series.
Members who are on a Cup team can own a team in the Nationwide or Truck series with who they want.
Think of Kevin Harvick as a good example.... He races under Richard Childress Racing in the Cup series. Yes, he also races under RCR in the Nationwide series, but he owns his own team there. He also employs drivers who are on other teams in the Cup series like Tony Stewart, Tony Raines and Bobby Labonte.
I think we should allow that here as well.
Next year those Cup owners will have their team names switched automatically in the Nationwide and Truck Series. However, those members who are on a multi-car Cup team, will keep their same team names they used in 2007. It would probably be confusing to have a few different members under one team in the Nationwide series because they won't be sharing accumulating points together like in the Cup series. In 2009 we will worry about forming teams in those two series.
