The council voted on and approved a new format for the Budweiser Shootout in Lucky Dog Racing's Cup series in 2009.
The race will no longer be a simple exhibition event open to all Cup drivers. We have changed it to make the start of the new season a little more exciting. Since the Bud Shootout involves polewinners, we have decided to incorporate the same thing in the league.
Here is the new operation for the Bud Shootout... although most likely it will be called the Coors Light Shootout next year.
1. Only members who pick at least 5 polesitters during the regular season will be invited to participate in the event. Note: The Daytona 500 does not count since picks are made after qualifying. Rainouts also do not count as well.
2. Past winners of the Shootout will also be elligible each season.
3. For each polesitter picked over the qualifying mark of 5, it will provide you with 10 bonus points in the race. If you pick 6 polesitters for the season, you will receive 5 bonus points in the race. 7 will give you 10, etc.
4. The winner of the event will receive a special trophy on their page, plus they will have a free entry into the championship fund and all-star cash challenge, a $15.00 value.
5. If a member has already paid for either of those two options before the Shootout, the money will be applied to the first segment of the money pit that has not been paid for by that person.
6. If a member has already paid for all money options for that season, it will be credited to the following year.
