As you should be aware from previous posts, next season we are having a different format for that Bud Shootout in the Cup series. You will need to pick 5 polesitters to get into the event and then each additional polesitter will give you 5 bonus points in the race.
So far nobody has picked 5 polesitters yet.... although a few rainouts were the cause of that. There are 9 members who have 4 polesitters and need just one more to get in. After that they can start working on their bonus points.
Only one member hasn't picked any poles yet.... I'll be sure to remind my wife of that.
I'll add the polecount page somewhere on the main menu as well.

I was thinking that too, Marty. I don't think it will be for the 2009 race since I already set a mark. But maybe we should raise the bar a bit for future races.
In 2007 the avg pole sitters picked by teams was 6. If we would have used that number for the 2008 Shootout, we would have had 22 teams in the shootout. So maybe 5 wont be so bad after all.
For the past few years, the pole average has dropped by one each time. Last year the average was 6, in 2006 it was 7 and in 2005 it was 8. 2004's average was also 7.
We might want to bump it to 6 poles for the 2009 race since that has been the lowest average so far. This year they seem to be mounting up quicker for a lot of people, so we'll see.
You figure, you have 180 cars to pick six poles. Thats like 4%, I'd like to see 15 people or so in the race, not 30. I think a higher # would be good like the 8 or 9 range. Make it something special if you achieve the #. not so everyone in the league can attain it. If I dont reach the number, then kudos to those who did. Cause you outplayed me!!
The only thing is guys, we have to make sure that this year isn't the anamoly. Is this just a special year where everyone is having a knack for picking the polesitters or is the group as a whole getting smarter to be able to pick who's up front?
We now have our first group of members reach 5 poles for the season. So far, 10 members are now in the Bud Shootout next year.
Joining the three past winners are Bob Baldridge, Jr., Bob Douce, Dan Schmittou, Joe Hicks, John Wilson, Jordan Hunt and Martin Fleissner. Now they can start working on their bonus points by picking more poles throughout the year.
