Well, it was bound to happen sooner or later, Lefflerfan's streak came to an end after 8 weeks. It must have been disappointing for Stephen who picked Denny Hamlin, the favorite to win the race. Hamlin dominated until a slow leaking tire ended his hopes for a win or at least a top 10 finish. That ended Stephen's strak, along with 5 other members as well. He built up a comfortable lead after tying the all-time record, but he came oh so close to setting a new one.
The end of Lefflerfan's streak now hands the current longest running streak to J Rods Hot Rods who extended his to 6 weeks. Gary picked Kyle Busch who finished in 2nd place to give him 39 points for the week. He moves up one spot to 3rd place and is now 22 points behind Race Chick who still sits in 2nd place.
Bensonbdr23 moves up 2 spots after he extends his streak to 5 weeks after picking Busch. Jeffrey must have a sense of relief since he currently still holds the streak record even though he shares it now.
8 members started or continued their streak while 11 saw theirs end this week. Those that had theirs end picked either Denny Hamlin, Dale Jr. or Jimmie Johnson. Besides those who picked Kyle Busch, those who picked Tony Stewart, Carl Edwards and Jeff Gordon were rewarded this week.
Next week it's more short track action fun as we head to the newly repaved Darlington.
Wow that totally sucked. Denny leads practically every single lap and as I'm planning on who I should use for Darlington, he blows a tire. Richmond has now ruined my chance of breaking the record twice (Dale Jr blowing an engine with 6 laps to go in the fall race last year)
