I don't know if anyone else has been watching the Olympics, but I have found myself watching quite a bit this year. I've never really gotten into it too much, other than basketball, but seem to be watching alot this year. Michael Phelps winning 8 gold medals is beyond amazing. That will be a record that might never be topped. Actually made swimming exciting, lol.
I have been glued to the TV just about every night......Phelps, Kobe, Nastia, Shawn, May-Treanor and Walsh, Lezak, Peirsol, Torres..........all of these names have had me and my family enthralled not to mention great water cooler talk in the mornings!
Add all that and then USA leading the way in total medals thus far........plus the Romanian Marathoner who killed the competition, or the Romanian gymnast who beat out both of our girls for the floor exercise gold.......or the Chinese dominance in diving....or the South Koreans putting up a very respectable showing.
Then you have the heartbreaks such as the Hungarian weightlifter who hyperextended his elbow on a lift or the tragic death of the Volleyball coach's father.
Very emotional and attention grabbing to say the least.
