So Wendal....are you saying that Obama should be our President? I shake my head every time his name is mentioned and ask.. Tell me one thing this guy has ever done? I wouldnt trust him with my pig who wore lipstick, so someone please tell what the fascination with this guy is? He is nothing more than hot air, yet people believe him.

I truely don't trust Obama a 100% yet either. So, I do hear what you are saying about what has he done.

I think this year when American People Vote it is going to be hard -- due to the fact that on one hand you have a party that has been in office for 8 years and the question there is do we want another 4 years of the same sh*t -- John is 72 years old and if something would happen to John -- I'm not sure if VP-Palin could handle the job.

Then on the other hand you have Obama, which I'm not sure if people are totally ready for him yet. But, we do need a change in the Office and that is why Obama will get my Vote this year.

So what is Obama going to change? He has never done anything....period. Sounds to me like your willing to take a chance on a nobody. Kinda like betting the house on Casey Atwood to win the Daytona 500. He has never done anything..but talks a good game. I am confident that Mccain will win...but I am more worried that my country is so outta whack, that a shyster like Obama would even be considered for President. It's just sad.

And for the rest....Bush isnt running....lol and can you say we dont need another Jimmy Carter!! For those of you not old enough to remember Carter, Google him...he was the WORST president ever.

And Wendal...since I have lived in ND..I know there are many missile silos there. Wouldnt that be a first strike target? Would you really want Obama defending you? I would never put my family in that position.

And on to New Hampshire!!!

I guess I'm willing to give him a shot. Hell, Bill Clinton didn't have much behide him and look at the great 8 years we had there. Then look at Bush which didn't have much behide him either and look at what he did to us. So, I wouldn't say what have they done.

And about living in North Dakota that is that risk we had to deal with everyday no matter who is in office.

I'm just ready for a change. I guess that is the NEW school in me (LoL)

Here are a few facts for you to consider.

George Bush has been in office for 7 1/2 years. The first six the economy was fine. However -- A little over one year ago:

1) Consumer confidence stood at a 2 1/2 year high;
2) Regular gasoline sold for $2.19 a gallon;
3) the unemployment rate was 4.5%.
4) the DOW JONES hit a record high--14,000 +
5) American's were buying new cars, taking cruises,vacations over seas, living large!...

But American's wanted 'CHANGE'! So, in 2006 they voted in a Democratic Congress & yep--we got 'CHANGE' all right. In the PAST YEAR:

1) Consumer confidence has plummeted ;
2) Gasoline is now $3.50+ a gallon & climbing!;
3) Unemployment is up to 5% (a 10% increase);
4) Americans have seen their home equity drop by $12 TRILLION
DOLLARS & prices still dropping;
5) 1% of American homes are in foreclosure.
6) As I write, THE DOW is probing another low~~11,100- -

$2.5 TRILLION DOLLARS HAS EVAPORATED FROM THEIR
STOCKS, BONDS & MUTUAL FUNDS INVESTMENT
PORTFOLIOS!

YEP , IN 2006 AMERICA VOTED FOR CHANGE!...AND WE SURE AS HECK GOT IT!!!....NOW OBAMA, the DEM'S CANDIDATE FOR PRESIDENT--AND THE POLLS SAY HE'S GONNA BE 'THE MAN'--CLAIMS HE'S GONNA REALLY GIVE US CHANGE!!.... JUST HOW MUCH MORE 'CHANGE' DO YA THINK YOU CAN STAND???....

All we will have left is "Change" in our pockets.
Yes Bush ratings are Lower than whale Poop. But congress is still rated below him?

LOL Seems like you left out 9/11 and the War on Terror. If Billy hadnt been playing footsies with Monica and doing what he was sworn to do...Protect The USA.. the world might be a different place. Remember all the companies that made Clinton so great? They are all gone or diminished. Remember the .Com era?

My consumer confidence is high... the mutual funds I have are doing well
Gas here is 3.43 a gallon
I am employed
My house value has risen every year...over the last 13 years
My house is paid for..as are my vehicles and play toys
Obama has never changed anything in his life....so how can anyone say he is going to change the world, when he cant even change his own underwear!! He's a fraud and he is being exposed as we speak!

Bush's approval rating is 30%, and Congress's is 9% !!

However....I do have confidence in the American people. If I had my way, I would send them all home for 4 years. That would set the country straight!!

For the Obama supporters... will someone please tell me specifically what it is he is going to do for you? Everyone I ask...has no answers, except one said he wouldnt be another Bush!! lol Obama on a good day will never be the man Bush is...never

While I voted for Bush, I think he hasn't been as great as he could be, but rarely does a President actually live up to expectations. That is just the nature of the job, trying to please everyone will not get anyone what they want.

Bill Clinton was better than I intially thought he was, but its true that he didnt want to pursue rising suspicions about Al-Queda and never wanted to enter Afganistan before 9-11 happened and thus all those people eventually paid the price.

But this election is about Barack and John.

Barack, even his name has a stage presence about it. I've lived in NW Indiana the last seven years and you could see the Democratic Party propping him up to be the candidate for years if you were paying attention. Much like Palin, he was a no one until about 5 months before running for Senate and then you have his much-covered visits to Africa and the Mid-East and whatnot. It was very evident. But what has he done for Illinois? nothing.

McCain may not be the answer, let's face it. I have never voted for him in a primary. I was wishing Huckabee could strike magic and gain popular favor. He is the real answer in my mind, judging from what I saw in the debates. That being said, I still have more faith in McCain than Obama. McCain has a long a storied record in political office with very favorable opinions and results. But what honestly put me over the top is his gutsy decision on a running mate. I am not one of those sexist people who remark that she can't do it. She's young, fresh, determined, and willing to put the people first...........just like umm I dont know........Kennedy.....who is widely regarded as one of the best ever (true or not, he is revered).

So my vote will be for McCain, will he get elected? I dont know...my fear is that Barack pulls it out, but I will do my part to see the Republicans back in office.

Thanks to all that are responding to this subject. It is important to know what the feelings are and I think we have a good mix of people from around the country. It is also nice to see we can have a debate in a civilized manner. Lets keep the thread going. McCain is going to be in New Hampshire this weekend how long before we see Obama at a race.

I agree Matt. It was McCain's VP pick that energized this bunny. That showed me he was really serious about changing Washington. The other thing he said was about Earmarks..or pork.. He said any legislation that came to his desk with additional pork, he would VETO it. Then he would let everyone know who it was that added the additional spending..PUBLICLY!
If John and Sarah come anywhere near here..Im outta here! I have to check this lady out!!

Finally NOBAMA tells the truth. Every American who owns a small business or works for one sgould be really worried. Read this.

Barack Obama told a tax-burdened plumber over the weekend that his economic philosophy is to "spread the wealth around" -- a comment that may only draw fire from riled-up John McCain supporters who have taken to calling Obama a "socialist" at the Republican's rallies.

Obama made the remark, caught on camera, after fielding some tough questions from the plumber Sunday in Ohio, where the Democratic candidate canvassed neighborhoods and encouraged residents to vote early.

"Your new tax plan is going to tax me more, isn't it?" the plumber asked, complaining that he was being taxed "more and more for fulfilling the American dream."

"It's not that I want to punish your success. I just want to make sure that everybody who is behind you, that they've got a chance for success too," Obama responded. "My attitude is that if the economy's good for folks from the bottom up, it's gonna be good for everybody ... I think when you spread the wealth around, it's good for everybody."

How about if the people behind him....JUST GET A JOB!!!

Plenty of jobs here. Unemployment actually went down the last quarter. Only ones not working are at Boeing...thats cuz they are striking. I never understood the striking thing... intentionally hurting the company that employs you... and then complain when they move the company. Negotiations can always be done while work is going on.

well, it seems McCain has used one of the best strategies.....(much like they do in college football)............lose early, win big late.

He slammed dunk Obama on nearly every subject. Every other shot had Barack flustered and tip-toeing around the subject while John clearly answered the questions that was asked of him.

"Senator Obama, I am not President Bush. If you wanted to run against George Bush, you should have run for President four years ago."

Classic!

Oh, and that claim that 100% of McCain's ads are negative is completely false....as is now being reported by the networks.

McCain's claim that Obama has spent more money on negative ads than anyone in history is completely true. Barack is long on wind and promises and short on results or record.

Claims that Governor Palin is not experienced enough to run the White House? well, isn't that what we would get right away with Obama?

Personally, I like McCain's Homeowner buy-up plan. I like his Medical plan with the $5,000 to use where you wish. I also like his education plans. The part I am sketchy on is his foreign policy, but then again, Barack's seems to be waaayyy worse. I also like McCain's willingness to pursue all alternative fuels options to level the playing field. I do disagree with him on Roe vs. Wade, but again, I feel like he is the best man for the office of President in 2008.

I live between the right and left coasts..right smack in the middle. After doing my homework, seems the reason tons of jobs are leaving is because of the taxes that corporations are having to pay. The United States has the 2nd highest Corporate taxes of all Industrialized nations. If that rate is 25% and you find Germany at 12%, wouldnt you move? All they need to do to get jobs back and keep others here....lower that tax, but as you all know, the Democratic controlled congress does not lower taxes...never has...never will. Lowering taxes means giving power back to the people, and thats the last thing they want, as they thrive on us being needy.

I agree that the quality of help these days is terrible. I am not sure if its the culture or that new members to the work-force expect a paycheck without doing anything. This is happening everywhere.

you definately hit on something there John, and if memory serves, McCain even mentioned that about companies shipping off overseas due to Obama's tax plan to lean heavy on the businesses.

the past few years ive found this to be so true . got my job now three years ago and about 5 miles from where i was working . could have gotten job two years earlier but had no idea and they got tired of trying to fill positions

if you have marketable skills and a desire to work there are jobs out there . im ready for a change because i have no confidence in management but doubt i will make change anytime soon with major companies going down every other day . each time we hire another crackhead if in fact they do show up daily they are so lazy and feel they did their part just by getting hired . we have one guy who moved from michigan down to carolina saying if things didnt work out at this plant at least he had choices down here . there were plenty of jobs in his area but market was so flooded with people looking for work you had to rely on luck to get a job , who is going to look through a hundred resumes to hire a couple people ?
