We have a number of members from Texas who are being threatened by nasty Hurricane Ike. We're all thinking of you, please try to stay safe.
Most likely you might be losing power for awhile, so even though you probably won't see this, don't worry about your picks if you can't get them in. I'll carry your picks over for the next few weeks if needed.

I took a look at where our 4 members from Texas Motorsports live. Shawnda and Kendall should be ok. they are in Munday which is more northern. They'll get the effects most likely, but don't think it will be bad as southern Texas.
John Wilson is in Bandera which is a southern-central. Looks like he might get hit pretty hard.
Worst off is BJ Spears who is in Spring. She'll get hit the worst. Spring in southern-eastern which doesn't look all that far from Galveston which will get hit first. The hurricane will go right through Spring as well, so it's not looking good. She's evacuating which is good, but hopefully her home won't get too badly damaged.
In the Nationwide series, Marvin Jone lives in Kempner, TX. Kempner is central Texas. The storm should pass near there, but hopefully will lose some of its strength by then. He'll still probably get a nice hit though.
Hurricane Sidwell is in Houston. Hurricane Sidwell will meet Hurricane Ike as the storm will go right through there as well. Hopefully Hurricane Sidwell will prevail over Ike as well as the rest of Houston.
Robby Stone is in Tyler which is also in the path of the hurricane but a bit futher north. hopefully it will lose some strength before it gets to him.
Jeff Ping is also in Texas, although I'm not sure exactly where. hopefully he's out of the storm's way.
Be safe everyone! We'll be thinking of you.

Thank you everyone for the prayers and good thoughts.
Before the storm I figured we would lose power, so to be on the safe side I put 2 weeks worth of picks in. As soon as some of the power in my area came on we started going to the local subway that had free wifi, to start letting people know we were ok. Second email was to lou. We got our power back on the 3 days ago.
Damage to the house was somewhat minor. We had tree's fall on the house but no holes in the roof. Shingle damage. A neighbor's tree behind us fell on the garden shed that broke the roof decking so the roof will have to be replaced. But the worst was the neighbor beside us has a tree next to our driveway which is a old oak that fell across the vehicles. I've attached some pictures for you all to see.
Glad you are ok, BJ. If the worse damage was just to the cars, I'd say you made out pretty lucky compared to what some other people had to go through out there.
